The tour has been renamed Art in the Gardens to reflect the blending of the artistry of several local gardens with the artistic talents of a variety of artists and musicians. As part of the event, area residents are invited to tour 10 Columbia-area gardens on Sunday, June 16, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Discounted tickets are available to purchase in advance at the following Columbia locations: Garth, 22 S. Second St.; Columbia Kettle Works, 40 N. Third St.; Hinkle’s Restaurant, 261 Locust St.; Miss Alison’s Arts and Yoga Studio, 430 Walnut St.; and Columbia Crossing River Trails Center, 41 Walnut St. Folks

also have the option of emailing createcolumbia@gmail.com to purchase tickets in advance using a credit card. On the day of the tour, tickets will be available to purchase at Columbia Crossing River Trails Center, which is also where tour booklets can be picked up. The booklets will include details and addresses of each tour venue, as well as a map to help locate each stop. Plus, Columbia Crossing will feature music and artists and the chance for visitors to take part in a hands-on gardening activity. Art in the Gardens will highlight different gardening styles and features at nine residences and at Wright’s Ferry Mansion, 38 S. 2nd St. The private residences will be open for the duration of the tour, while Wright’s Ferry Mansion will be open from noon to 3 p.m. with a tour guide on hand to explain Susanna Wright’s horticultural interests. See Garden Tour pg 5

The gardens of Bob and Tina Sherick (pictured) will be one of 10 stops on the Art in the Gardens tour in Columbia on June 16.
