Susquehanna Valley Chamber of Commerce will host a mixer for area businesses and prospective business members from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 9, at the Marietta Center for the Arts, 133 W. Market St., Marietta. The meal will include a half-chicken, a baked potato, applesauce, and a roll. Meals will be available for carryout. Trinity United Church of Christ, 200 E. Market St., Hallam, has announced a pork barbecue dinner, which will be sponsored by the Family Life Committee. The dinner will take place on Saturday, May 4, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Each meal will include pork barbecue, a baked potato, applesauce, a roll and butter, dessert, and a bottle of water. Groups To Hold 23rd Native Plant Sale MAEscapes and the Penn State Master Gardeners will host the 23rd annual Native Plant Sale on Saturday, May 11, at the York County Annex, 112 Pleasant Acres Road, York, from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., rain or shine. Plant growers from around the region will offer a large selection of native plants for sale, including trees and shrubs suited for the local area and many hard-to-find plants. Heirloom vegetable seedlings and herbs will be offered for sale by the Horn Farm Center. Master Gardeners and MAEscapes experts will be on hand to answer gardening questions and help attendees decide on the best plants for their needs. Breakfast and lunch items will be available to purchase. New this year, Celtic Wood and Wires will provide musical entertainment.

The Native Plant Sale will include free seminars on the following topics: “Our Favorite Things,” 8 a.m.; “Top Native Pollinator Plants,” 9 a.m.; “Trees and Shrubs for Wildlife,” 10 a.m.; “Planting Instructions,” 10:45 a.m.; and “Creating Habitat for Butterflies,” 11 a.m. Free children’s activities will take place from 8:45 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. A free guided tour of the MAEscapes Demonstration Gardens will begin at 9:30 a.m., and a free tour of the Historic Trees Arboretum will begin at 11:30 a.m. Various educational displays be set up, and individuals may purchase books, stepping stones and garden tools. Libraries Announce Renovations

Columbia Railroad Day Planned

York County Libraries officials have announced renovation and expansion plans for three library locations. According to York County Libraries president Robert F. Lambert, the project will transform Martin Library, Kreutz Creek Library, and Kaltreider-Benfer Library into state-ofthe-art library facilities. The endeavor marks the first simultaneous, multi-location expansion project in the organization’s 45-year history. Martin Library, located on the corner of Queen and Market streets in York city, will renovate and repurpose 18,000 square feet of its 68,000square-foot building. Columbia Railroad Day will take place on Saturday, May 4, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Events will be held at Columbia Historic Preservation Society, 21 N. Second St., Columbia, and Rail Mechanical Service Inc. (RMS), 380 S. Fourth St., Columbia. At the preservation society, lectures will be hosted and the Columbia and Susquehanna Model Railroad will be open. At RMS Inc., participants will be able to climb aboard a 1940s Baltimore trolley car, view demonstrations, and enjoy

The mission of Blessings of Hope is to provide an opportunity for all people to be able to build relationships in their
