Gifts That Give Hope Fair To Move To New Location
The Gifts That Give Hope (GTGH) Lancaster Alternative Gift Fair, founded by Jenn Knepper (third from right), will be held on Dec. 7 at The Junction Center in Manheim. Representing a sampling of the organizations that will take part in this year’s event are (from left) Feleen Nancarvis of Lancaster Meals on Wheels, Beth Weaver of AIM to Empower, Mustafa Nuur of Bridge, and Deb Becker and Carla Horn of Connection Ubuntu.
Not long after Danielle Elliott received the Shining Light Ellen Coach Award from Girls on the Run (GOTR) Lancaster at the Inn at Leola Village on May 29, she headed for the Pocono Mountains, where she works at a summer camp for children. At the start of the school year, she returned to her job as a learning support teacher at Burrowes Elementary School in the School District of Lancaster. For Elliott, who has signed up to volunteer for her sixth season with GOTR, working with children fulfills an important purpose. “Emotional and behavioral (needs) are what I am drawn to,” said Elliott, who noted that she was abandoned by a parent as a child. A Showcase Of Art And Music At Boettcher House By Ann Mead Ash
When artists congregate, they often like to discuss their creations with each other. This was the case when painter Stephen Gambone and mixed-media artist Carrie Monique Daigle first saw Paris Llanso’s brightly colored painting called “Citrus Splash.” “I love how the buildup of paint is thick and structural,” commented Daigle. “That’s (called) impasto,” added Gambone. The work of Gambone, Daigle, and Llanso will be among the creations of the nearly 50 professional artists who will take part in the Landis Woods Outdoor Fine Art Show that will be held rain or shine on the Boettcher House Museum grounds, 2369 Lititz Pike, See Art Show pg 3
Artists who will exhibit at the annual Landis Woods Outdoor Art Show on the Boettcher House grounds on Sept. 28 will include (front, from left) Lisa Madenspacher, Carrie Monique Daigle, (back) Stephen Gambone, Paris Llanso, and Jennifer Cavalcante.
