Treating The Troops By Ann Mead Ash
While the celebration of Independence Day on July 4 may have made Americans think back to the moment in Philadelphia in 1776 when the Founding Fathers declared citizens of the 13 colonies free from English rule, owners of several Lancaster County bed-and- breakfasts were thinking of those serving overseas. Now more than ever, thanks to jobs and wages lost while the stay-at-home order was in place, resources for people experiencing homelessness or at risk of

In the past, Lititz Area Mennonite School (LAMS) annual benefit auctions were held at the school, 1050 E. Newport Road, Lititz, on a Friday evening and during the day Saturday at the end of May or early June. This year, however, the auction will be held online. Bids may be placed from Monday, July 20 through Saturday, July 25. “The (auction) is going to look a bit different this year,” wrote organizer Karen Burkholder in a press release. “With COVID-19 (restrictions) shutting down schools, we had to rethink how we would hold our annual (fundraiser).” See LAMS Auction pg 3
