A group for quilters meets every other Wednesday to work on lap robes for veterans and other projects. The center offers a movie and popcorn once a month. A podiatrist visits every nine weeks, and a nurse stops by once a month to conduct blood pressure checks. A jewelry making class is also planned.

A group meets regularly to knit hats for Coats of Friendship, an organization that provides hats and gently used coats to homeless people in the area.

Center members may play Bunco on Thursdays at 9:15 a.m., and the center aims to have 12 players each week.

The senior center will offer trips, as well. A trip to see “The Will Rogers Follies” at Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre in Lancast-

Stewartstown Senior Center, 26 S. Main St., Stewartstown, will host a flu vaccine clinic on Friday, Sept. 13. Flu vaccines will be administered by staff from Walgreens Pharmacy from 9 to 11 a.m. to individuals age 18 and older.

Two types of flu vaccines will be offered, including a regular flu vac-

cine and the high-dose senior flu vaccine. Medicare Part B will be accepted at the clinic for vaccines.

Preregistration is required by Wednesday, Sept. 11, by calling 717-993-3488. Attendees should bring their insurance cards with them. For individuals who are uninsured, a self-pay option is also available.

VFW Post 7012, 123 W. Main St., New Freedom, will resume its monthly community breakfasts.

The breakfasts will be held on the second Sunday of the month beginning Sept. 8. Breakfast will be available from 8 to 11 a.m. in the upstairs social hall, and community members are asked to use the West Main Street entrance across from Rutter’s. A wheelchair-accessible entrance is on Third Street.

York County Juvenile Probation Services is seeking volunteers for its Youth Aid Panel, a diversionary program that holds youths accountable while avoiding the stigma of permanent criminal records. Under the program, select children facing summary and misdemeanor charges avoid entering the formal criminal justice system by being diverted to court-sanctioned panels made up of community members.

The Victor’s Bocce League, which began in the summer of 1985, is celebrating 35 seasons of bocce fun and competition.
