Students in Spanish classes at Kennard-Dale High School have met with students from an English Language Learners class at Jackson Elementary School this year. Throughout this school year, students in Mrs. Snyder’s Spanish IV and V classes at Kennard-Dale High School have been interacting with Mrs. Lenker’s English Language Learners

The Blue Star Memorial Highway marker was installed in September 2018 by the GTGC of the Red Lion area. Honoring the past and present Armed Forces of the United States, the Blue Star Memorial Marker program of the National Garden Clubs Inc. began in 1945 and is responsible for markers extending across the United States. The GTGC purchased the marker, and placement was made in cooperation with PennDOT, District 8, York County, and the Garden Club Federation of Pennsylvania. The public is invited to attend the free event. class at Jackson Elementary School. The students include juniors and seniors and fourth-graders, who were partnered in an effort to explore cultural and linguistic differences among them.

The York County Area Agency on Aging (YCAAA), in conjunction with the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture, will again offer the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program to eligible York County seniors. The program provides $20 in vouchers to eligible seniors to buy fresh fruit and vegetables from participating local farm markets. York County residents are eligible to participate if they are age 60 or older by Tuesday, Dec. 31, and have a 2019 total gross annual household income at or below $23,107 for a single person or $31,284 for a couple. All income is included when calculating total gross income. Proof of age and York County residency must be presented to obtain vouchers. A couple may each receive a voucher if their combined total income is within the income requirements. 2019 proxy forms are required for eligible seniors authorizing someone else to pick up the vouchers for them.
