Parks Department Will Celebrate 50th Anniversary The York County Parks 50th anniversary party will take place on Thursday, Oct. 18, at the Wyndham Garden York, 2000 Loucks Road, York. Doors will open at 5 p.m. The event will include hors d’oeuvres, dinner, a silent auction, and more. Richard Louv, journalist and author of nine books, including international bestseller, “Last Child in the Woods,” will speak at the event. Local news anchor Evan Forrester will be the master of ceremonies. A social hour, with hors d’oeuvres and the silent auction, will be held from 5:15 to 6:15 p.m. Dinner and dessert will be served from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. The program on “A Nature-Rich Life” See Parks Department pg 2

The Modern Age will play music during Guinston Presbyterian Church’s annual building fundraiser dinner and dance on Saturday, Oct. 6. The Guinston Presbyterian Church, 14130 Guinston Forge Road, Airville, will hold its annual building fundraiser dinner and dance on Saturday, Oct. 6. From 7 to 9 p.m., the band The Modern Age will provide music for dancing. Baskets will be up for bids in a silent auction. The church will serve a dinner, including ham and green beans and dessert. The Modern Age includes Clark Dunlap,

Michael Hubler, Jeffrey Winter, and Logan Kinard. The group performs oldies and a few more contemporary songs. All proceeds will go to the church’s building fund.
