The York Civil War Round Table will meet at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 15, at the Historical Society Museum, Library and Archives, 250 E. Market St., York. Ray Kinard will speak on “The Hanover Branch Railroad: Gateway to Gettysburg.” The meeting is open to the public. The luncheon will be held at Hoss’s Steak and Sea House, 2175 White St., York, beginning with a social time at 11:30 a.m. Lunch will begin at noon, and attendees may purchase their own meal from the menu. Guest speaker Larry Hodges will share a presentation about the Manhattan Project and how the United States built the atomic bomb that ended World War II. Between sessions, participants will be required to read several chapters of the Bible and complete written homework.
