Poster Contest Winners Announced
Currently Hiring For The Following Positions:
District 14-C of Lions Clubs International honored the winners of the Lions International Peace Poster contest on Feb. 22 at the District 14-C cabinet meeting. This year’s theme was “Journey of Peace.� The posters were judged on their creativity, their artistic merit, and their demonstration of the theme. The winners for the 2019-20 Lions International Peace Poster Contest at the district level of competition were Sophia Peglow, first place, a sixth-grader at Arendtsville Elementary School, sponsored by the Arendtsville Lions Club; Anika Ray, second place, a sixth-grader at Dallastown Area Intermediate School, sponsored by the Jacobus Lions Club; Sophia Papayannis, third place, a seventh-grader at Dallastown Area Middle School, sponsored by the Dallastown Lions Club; and Natalie Keeren, honorable mention, a sixthgrader at Bendersville Elementary School, sponsored by the Arendtsville Lions Club. In District 14-C, 165 students created peace posters. District 14-C is comprised of Lions Clubs in the York, Adams, and Franklin counties. The Lions International Peace Poster contest is marking its 32nd year. More than 600,000 children in 75 countries participate in the contest annually. Youths ages 11 to 13 are given the opportunity to share their vision of world peace by creating a poster.
