Scouts Perform Holiday Songs Cub Scout Pack 28 of Red Lion performed Christmas carols at Country Meadows Nursing Home in York on Dec. 3. The Scouts, dressed in Class A uniforms, showed their Christmas spirit while treating residents to various holiday favorites. Songs included “Jingle Bells� and “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town.� The Scouts were led and accompanied by pack leader Brian Wise on the guitar. The Scouts also assisted with Breakfast With Santa on Dec. 7 at the Red Lion Recreation Commission. Cub Scout Pack 28 meets on Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Red Lion. The group is open to boys ages 5 to 10.

Designer Purse Bingo Fundraiser Set Red Lion Area Band Parents Club will host a designer purse bingo fundraiser on Sunday, Jan. 12, at 2 p.m. in the Student Commons at Red Lion Area Senior High School, 200 Horace Mann Ave., Red Lion. The cost of admission will include 20 bingo games. Specialty games, baked goods and other food items, and more will also be available. The community is invited to attend. All attendees must have a ticket. Attendees under age 18 may participate only when accompanied by a supervising adult. Tickets are available through any Red Lion band member or by contacting rlbandbingo@gmail.com for an order form no later than Sunday, Jan. 5. Tickets will be discounted when purchased in advance and full price at the door, if available. Special group seating options are also available. Additional sponsors and donations are also still being sought. All game sponsors and prize donors will be recognized in the bingo program. YMCA LIVESTRONG Program Community Partnership Offers Support To Cancer Survivors The YMCA of York and York County is offering the LIVESTRONG at the YMCA program, an evidence-based program that is intended to help cancer survivors and patients regain their physical and mental strength. The free 12-week program supports cancer survivors in regaining their physical, emotional and spiritual strength.

Currently, this program is offered at the Bob Hoffman Dover Branch, Eastern Branch, Southern Branch, and York Branch locations. The health and wellness exercise program is conducted in a small group environment that includes individualized attention for each participant. Adult survivors are eligible to join the program during all stages of recovery. The program also serves and embraces the families and caregivers who have been affected by the disease through a free family membership throughout the course of the program. Brandy A. Shealer (standing), Red Lion Area School District social worker, licensed clinical social worker, and certified trauma professional, made a presentation during the “Landlord and Community Partnership Conversation� session at Community REACH in Red Lion. Landlords from the service area of Community REACH - Dallastown, Eastern, and Red Lion school districts - were presented with information about renting and school district data. Attendees were provided with an opportunity to interact. A follow-up meeting will take place in 2020.
