Timothy’s Troops will hold a yard sale and a bake sale on Friday, Aug. 3, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday, Aug. 4, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. to benefit the American Cancer Society through Relay For Life. The event will be held rain or shine at 700 Cassel Road, Manchester. Information about the American Cancer Society will be available. Timothy’s Troops was formed in memory of Timothy DeVore. This event is one of the team’s biggest fundraisers. BIBLE SCHOOL

2755 Rosstown Road, Wellsville, will host “Camp P.P.A.G. Under the Son” vacation Bible school from Monday, Aug. 6, through Friday, Aug. 10. Children ages 3 to 12 are invited to join in the fun each night from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. for Bible stories, games, songs, crafts, skits and snacks. Lisburn Community Fire Company, 1800 Main St., Lisburn, will host its 65th annual Olde Time Festival from Wednesday to Saturday, Aug. 8 to 11. The event is open to the public. The festival will take place on Aug. 8 from 5 to 10 p.m.; on Thursday, Aug. 9, from 4 to 10 p.m.; and Friday, Aug. 10, and Saturday, Aug. 11, from 4 to 11 p.m. Aug. 8 will be Ride Night. Rides will be available from 6 to 10 p.m. The large pavilion will be closed, but sandwiches, pizza, ice cream, and hot dogs will be available elsewhere. Free entertainment will be provided by disc jockey Kraig Nace on Aug. 8, Make Mine Country on Aug. 9, Borderline on Aug. 10, and Laredo on Aug. 11. Residents in neighborhoods throughout Newberry Township will be invited to participate in National Night Out (NNO) with others across the nation from 6 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 7. Garden Club Awards Scholarships The Penn-Cumberland Garden Club (PCGC) recently awarded four scholarships. The Esther Kolze Scholarship Award of $1,000 for high school seniors was presented for the 2018-19 school year to Haley Rumbel. She lives in Camp Hill and attended Cedar Cliff High School. Rumbel plans to attend Penn State University’s Main Campus in the fall. The PCGC Esther Kolze Scholarship Award of $1,000 for current college students was awarded for the 2018-19 year to Ian Hess. His hometown is Sanford, Fla., and this fall he will be a sophomore at Wilson College in Chambersburg. This year, PCGC presented two additional scholarships of $500 each for the 2018-19 school year. The scholarships were awarded to two high school seniors, Angelica Reppert-Brill and Courtney Fleisher. Reppert-Brill lives in See Scholarships pg 4
