Festival Will Feature Free Fall Fun New Beginnings Church of Middletown is planning Fall Fest for Saturday, Oct. 5, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The church is located at 630 S. Union St., which is

next to the Rescue Fire House. The event will include games, relays, face painting, candy scrambles, hayrides, food, crafts, “spider limbo,”

pumpkin bowling, and more. There will also be door prizes. Everything will be free.

Barrick Places First At Competition Mason Barrick, an eighth-grader at Lower Dauphin Middle School, competed at the 2019 Mid-Atlantic Tournament of Champions DeMolay Ritual Competition that was held the weekend of Sept. 6 in Gettysburg. He competed

with more than 60 DeMolay members from the jurisdictions of Indiana, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Virginia. Mason, representing Elizabethtown DeMolay, won first-place ribbons in the open level contests for the Ceremony of Light, Chaplain Prayers and Historical Lecture. There were also championlevel contests for previous competitors and jurisdictional champions in the various contests. One of the principal goals of the Order of DeMolay is to help young men become better and more confident public speakers through the memorization and recitation of ceremonies and presentations. Mason joined Elizabethtown Chapter, Order of DeMolay, on Nov. 4, 2018, and serves as chaplain for the chapter. See Competition pg 3

Falmouth Goat Races Set For Sept. 28 By Chelsea Peifer

Last autumn, torrential rains and soggy fields caused the Falmouth Civic Assocation to cancel the Falmouth Goat Races for only the second time in nearly four decades, but this year - barring any more severe weather - the

goats will be back. The Falmouth Goat Races will take place on Saturday, Sept. 28, at Governor Stable Park, 101 Governor Stable Road, Bainbridge, which is located just off Route 441 in the village of Falmouth. Admission is free, with a nominal fee per vehicle for parking. See Goat Races pg 3

Participants, volunteers, and spectators are all welcome to join in the fun at the annual Falmouth Goat Races on Sept. 28 at Governor Stable Park in the village of Falmouth.
