Good’s Mennonite Church will hold an outdoor worship service on Sunday, Aug. 11, at 10 a.m. at Governor Stable Park, 101 Governor Stable Road, Elizabethtown. The Werner Family Band, a gospel bluegrass band from Mount Joy, will provide music for the event. Lunch will be provided following the service. The public is invited. Attendees may bring lawn chairs. 45th Annual Mount Gretna Art Show Set The 45th annual Mount Gretna Art Show will be held on Saturday, Aug. 17, and Sunday, Aug. 18, on the streets and in the parks of Mount Gretna. The show will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Aug. 17 and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Aug. 18, rain or shine. The Mount Gretna Art Show features fine artists from across the country. This year’s show will feature 260 exhibitors, selected from nearly 500 applicants, as well as an Emerging Artists area for artists who have not exhibited previously. The art show will host Mountain Road Band from Harrisburg on Aug. 18 at 3 p.m. in the Mount Gretna Playhouse. Admission to the concert will be included with Aug. 18 show admission. Children’s events will include a percussion craft led by Gretna Music and drum circles on the Mount Gretna Playground led by Joyful ViBraysions from York. The Kids’ Art Show, created for families, is scheduled for both days under the direction of Christa Eck. Held at the Chautauqua Playground, the event is scheduled to occur from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day. Children will sell their artwork and crafts. The 45th annual Mount Gretna Art Show will be held on Aug. 17 and 18 in Mount Gretna.

The American Heart Association has named Daniel P. Day as chair of the 2020 Capital Region Heart Ball. Day has served as Highmark Blue Shield’s chief market officer and senior vice president of the central region since 2018. He has more than 25 years of experience in the health care industry, including positions with Aetna and most recently at Murray Securus Insurance, where he was vice president of health benefits. Day is a graduate of Ursinus College with a degree in economics and business administration. He also has his Certified Employee Benefits Specialist certification from the W harton School of Business and IFEBP. The annual Capital Region Heart Ball will take place on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2020, at the Hershey Lodge. The gala to raise funds for the American Heart Association will include dinner, dancing, a silent and live auction and other activities.
