Seven Sorrows Catholic Church will hold its last Lenten fish fry of the year in the cafeteria at Seven Sorrows School, 360 E. Water St., Middletown, on Friday, April 12. Doors will open at 3:15 p.m., with food service from 5 to 8 p.m. Featured will be all-you-can-eat batter-dipped fish for eat-in only, along with a variety of other dishes. Handmade chocolate eggs will also be for sale. Classic Quiz Team Wins Competition Golf To Support MDA The Penn State Harrisburg Office of Multicultural Recruitment and Community Affairs hosted its 30th annual High Achievers Academic Bowl on March 14. Middletown Area Middle School’s Quiz Team took first place in competition against seventh- and eight-grade students from Central Dauphin, Central Dauphin East, Harrisburg Math and Science Academy, Nativity, and Steelton-Highspire. Quiz questions focused on the accomplishments of black Americans and information about people from other cultures. The questions were drawn from three sources: The Black Americans of Achievement Game, “African-American Facts and Trivia,” and the “African, Asian and Hispanic Collections.”

The inaugural Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) Golf Classic will take place on Friday, April 26, at Dauphin Highlands Golf Course, 650 S. Harrisburg St., Harrisburg. Registration for individuals and groups of four will begin at 11 a.m. Golf will begin at noon with a shotgun start, and a buffet dinner and award ceremony will begin at 4:30 p.m. Contests and a silent auction will also be featured. The event will support the Central Pennsylvania Region MDA in Harrisburg, which works to combat the harmful effects of muscular dystrophy, ALS, and related illnesses that severely weaken muscle strength and mobility.
