Boy Scout Troop 97 To Host Open House

St. Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Church, 601 S. Harrisburg St., Oberlin, will hold its annual Easter walnut roll sale. Quantities are limited. Orders may be picked up from 3 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, April 17. Walnut rolls may be ordered by calling 717-939-0209. FISH FRY

Doors will open at 3:15 p.m., with food service from 5 to 8 p.m. Featured will be all-you-caneat batter-dipped fish for eat-in only, along with lemon-pepper fish, crab cakes, jumbo fried shrimp, macaroni and cheese, lobster macaroni and cheese, crabby cheese fries, pierogies, and desserts, including chocolate cake with peanut butter icing and coconut cream pie. Handmade chocolate eggs will also be for sale. A Town Hall to Stop Hate

Boy Scout Troop 97 of Londonderry Township will hold an open house on Saturday, March 30, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Troop Complex, 1831 Felker Road, Middletown. The open house will feature a campfire hot dog roast and Scout skills instruction. Scout leaders and Boy

Scouts will be available to answer questions and membership applications will be available. The event is open to boys who will be completing fifth grade or a higher grade and who are interested in camping, hiking, canoeing, survival skills, leadership opportunities, and

STEM Team Places In Competition The Lower Dauphin High School STEM team earned second place in CAIU’s regional event in the Governor’s STEM Competition. The event showcased projects in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) created by teams from Dauphin, Perry, Cumberland, Franklin, and northern York counties. The Lower Dauphin Team included Aiden Mende, Madison Karcesky, Elizabeth Heberlig, Kathleen CarterBuske, and Sierra Endy. This was the first time competing for all members of this team. They designed and 3-D printed tiles for watchbands that have textures meant to reduce stress and anxiety. The students named their product “Strebb,” as it is designed to cause one’s stress to ebb.

community service. Boys do not need to reside in Londonderry Township or have any prior Scouting experience to join Troop 97. Troop 97 meetings are held on Tuesday evenings year-round, in addition to monthly outdoor adventures and an annual summer camp, which all

American Legion Members Visit Washington, D.C. Former U.S. Army infantryman and former Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Ridge (second from right) met with a Pennsylvania American Legion delegation in Washington, D.C., on Feb. 25. The delegation included (from left) master sergeant-at-arms Stephen LaVelle, aide to department commander Joseph Gunkle, aide to department commander Michael Kelley, past national commander Dominic D. DiFrancesco, and Pennsylvania department commander James Vollrath. Kelley and DiFrancesco are both from the Middletown Post. The delegation was in the capital to lobby Congress to advance the American Legion’s legislative priorities.
