SUMMER ACTIVITY
The Londonderry Township Bocce League is accepting regular and substitute players for the summer. Men and women are invited to participate. Games will take place between Monday, May 6, and Tuesday, Aug. 20. Games will be played on Mondays and Tuesdays at 9 a.m. in May; on Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 a.m. in June, July, and August; and on Tuesdays at 6 p.m. from May to August. A picnic for everyone will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 27, at 6 p.m. at Sunset Park Golf Clubhouse. Orders may be placed through Saturday, April 20, while supplies last. Those placing orders may choose from the following flavors: peanut butter, peanut butter with dark chocolate, coconut, butter cream, and peppermint patties. PAFFA Members Will Volunteer Locally Members of the Pennsylvania FFA (PAFFA) will volunteer in the area while they are in Harrisburg for their annual FFA State Legislative Leadership Conference from Sunday, March 17, through Tuesday, March 19. Each year in conjunction with the leadership conference, members of the group participate in a community service day in which students and teachers from around the state volunteer at farms and other organizations. Hope Springs Farm in Hershey will again host a group of volunteers from the FFA. This year, the community service day will be held on Monday, March 18, from about 1 to 5 p.m. The FFA group volunteering at Hope Springs Farm will prepare the flower and vegetable gardens, work on the five large compost bins, paint some pasture sheds, prepare the nature trail, and help with other assorted farm chores. A Tasty Tradition Chocolate Egg Sale Begins
Members of the Pennsylvania FFA will volunteer at area farms and other organizations while they are in Harrisburg for the annual FFA State Legislative Leadership Conference from March 17 to 19. A group of students will help with various tasks at Hope Springs Farm in Hershey.
Seven Sorrows Catholic Church, 280 N. Race St., Middletown, is selling a variety of handmade chocolate eggs, and the sale will continue through Easter Sunday, April 21. The 2.4-ounce eggs are available in peanut butter, butter cream, coconut, or peppermint varieties, with a coating of white, dark, or milk chocolate. There is a fee per egg. In 2018, nearly 75,000 eggs were sold through businesses and direct orders, as well as at Seven Sorrows Parish. Roughly 3,000 pounds of peanut butter, 870 pounds of butter or margarine, and 4,050 pounds of chocolate were used by more than 80 volunteers working over four months. HAM DINNER
157 E. Water St., Middletown, will serve a baked ham dinner on Monday, March 18, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The dinner will include cheesy potatoes, carrots, applesauce, beverages, and dessert. Middletown Area High School honored Kaitlyn Knaub and Benjamin Knisely as Students of the Month for February. The honorees were selected by their teachers. Kaitlyn is the daughter of Steve and Dona Lee Knaub. Throughout high
school, she has earned honor roll and distinguished honor roll distinction. She is also the vice president of National Honor Society and co-president of Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America. Kaitlyn serves as a MiniTHON chair, and she is on the Link See Students pg 9
