The seventh annual Souper Saturday will be held on Saturday, Feb. 2, in the cafeteria at Middletown Area High School, 1155 N. Union St., Middletown. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. Dinner and entertainment will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to wear their favorite team jersey. Soup, salad, rolls, beverages, and desserts are included with admission. Tickets will be sold at the door. Children age 2 and under may attend for free. will present singing valentines again for the 70th year. Each singing valentine will include a fresh-cut rose, chocolate kisses, a song delivered in four-part harmony, and a ticket for a future show. Quartets will deliver love songs in person throughout the Harrisburg and central Pennsylvania area on Thursday, Feb. 14, and Friday, Feb. 15. In addition, a new format will be offered in 2019 - a singing valentine by phone for loved ones who may be far away. Time slots are limited. MAHS Students Take Part In FBLA Conference Twenty-six Middletown Area High School (MAHS) students participated in the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) testing process in hopes of qualifying for the Region 15 Leadership Conference. All 26 students placed in the top 10 in their categories and qualified to represent MAHS at the conference. The students headed to the Region 15 Leadership Conference on Dec. 10 to compete against 225 students from 12 other schools within Dauphin and Lebanon counties. A total of 19 students qualified to compete at the State Leadership Conference, which will be held at the Hershey Lodge on Monday through Wednesday, April 8 to 10. Middletown Area School District has announced that Middletown Area High School (MAHS) seniors Adriene Funck and Scott Ash were selected by their teachers as the Students of the Month for January. Adriene is the daughter of Daniel

Funck and Johanna Markham. She has been listed on the honor roll and distinguished honor roll throughout high school. She is a member of Link Crew and Key Club. Additionally, Adriene is the president of P.R.I.D.E. Club, the secretary of the National Honor Society, See Students Of The Month pg 9

The 14th annual Dauphin County Master Gardener Spring Workshop Series will take place on Saturdays, Feb. 23 to March 23. Registration will begin at 9 a.m., with programs from 9:30 to 11 a.m. The workshops will be held at the Dauphin County Agriculture and Natural Resources Center, 1451 Peters Mountain Road, Dauphin. Refreshments will be provided, and

door prizes will be awarded. 1 Lincoln Circle at Reservoir Park, Harrisburg, has opened a new exhibit, “The Business of War.” The exhibit will discuss how private businesses adapted to a war economy and contributed to or detracted from the war effort in their Union or Confederate sphere of influence.
