Valleyview Alliance Church, 200 Alliance Ave., York, will host Cornament, a cornhole tournament and fall festival for people of all ages. The community event will take place on Sunday, Oct. 21, from 2 to 8 p.m. The cornhole tournament will begin at 2 p.m., with the fall festival activities to begin at 5 p.m. There will be two age categories: children from age 5 to fifth grade and adults. The fall festival will include Trunk or Treat, tractor rides, carnival games, face painting, pumpkin decorating, food, prizes and more. will host its Second Saturday lecture on Saturday, Sept. 8, at 10:30 a.m. at the Historical Society Museum, Library and Archives, 250 E. Market St., York. Dr. Damayanthie Eluwawalage will present “History of Costume in Pennsylvania: 1600 to 1900.” Eluwawalage, an Albright College professor, will explore how influences impacted Pennsylvanians’ way of dressing and affected their societal and cultural attitudes. Eluwawalage is a researcher, author, historian, and designer from Reading. Second Saturday sessions are free and open to the public. No registration is required.
