It all started with one cow, and a
P OLL ED BRAHMAN D REA M .
You have probably heard the age-old saying, “If you can dream it, you can achieve it.” The most important part? The comma. In other words, the pause in this phrase carries the most weight. It represents all the miles in between the initial dream and the final destination—the journey. Ten years ago, Mike purchased a pretty, Polled baby doll heifer from Carlos Guerra. He set out to Linn, Texas that day on another mission, and when he got back to the ranch and told Benton the news, he asked him, “Well, what are we going to do with just one?” The rest, as they say, is history. A spark that laid kindling in Mike’s heart from all the years he worked for Clifford Ranch growing up was reignited, and his dream of one day re-entering the registered Brahman business became a reality. Over the years, Mike and Crickett, along with their son Benton, built a genetic base of Polled Brahman cattle that has received worldwide recognition for the ranch. When Benton’s wife, Brooke, joined the team in 2019, the duo collectively ramped up marketing efforts, resulting in a larger domestic customer base that spans from the East Coast to the West Coast, as well as the Midwest. The England’s also added Thailand to their international clientele in 2020, with the goal of expanding into more countries very soon. Despite all of the challenges of the past year due to the pandemic, England Cattle Co. successfully hosted their first-ever production sale on March 21, 2020. The first annual “Brahmans on the Rio” Production Sale featured 20 total lots, and grossed an excess of $140,000, with an average of $8,775 across 14 live cattle lots. An impressive feat for a registered cattle operation to achieve in less than a decade of production.
England Cattle Co. is respected around the world as one of the most progressive Polled Brahman operations, with their genetics spanning across the United States, along with Africa, Australia, Mexico and Thailand. In 2021, England Cattle Co. was recognized as the No. 1 “Brahman Operation with the Most Polled and Scurred Registrations” in the USA, published in the April Edition of The Brahman Journal. In addition, four of the Top 10 Producing Polled Grey dams and three of the Top 10 Producing Polled Grey sires in the USA, to date, are owned or co-owned by England Cattle Co. Celebrating 10 years in the business is both a humbling and rewarding achievement. The journey to get here took years of hard work, trial and error, perseverance, and most of all, grit. Looking back, the ups and downs of good weather years, followed by droughts, breeding success and ones that missed the mark, big wins and missed opportunities, etc. have all led to this moment and have helped define the course for the future. As a family, we are excited to welcome you to our home in Mercedes, Texas, to share our elite genetics with you in a live sale format. As Brahman breeders, we are proud to present to you our completely POLLED offering, with some exciting new genetics that we believe will advance the breed as whole. We are cattle producers first, and Polled breeders second. Our main goal and the focus of our breeding program will always be centered around producing, in Mike’s words, “top-quality cattle for the cowman.” The fact that they are Polled is an added value for our customers. This is a big event for the England Family and they are excited to be able to offer you their best as they celebrate 10 years of breeding superior polled Brahman cattle. It is an honor to have the opportunity to work with a family that I am fortunate to call friends. As many know, Mike and his family have committed their life to the Brahman breed since making their initial purchase in 2011. They have helped create the Rio Grande Valley Brahman Association, the Brahman Foundation, served in ABBA leadership positions, traveled the globe promoting the Brahman breed, and continuing to improve and promote polled Brahman cattle. I have been fortunate to have worked with a number of breeders over the years in selecting and hosting production sales. I have NEVER been turned loose to select the entire offering as I was this February in preparation for this sale. I can truly say that nothing is being held back and they are offering their best in a variety of lots. I have already and will continue to receive calls about this offering. The question is always, which one should I buy. The answer is simple. In 2016 we traveled to Australia for the World Brahman Congress. While there we visited a bull stud and saw #Bardia Ambassador 170. We were highly impressed with the bull due to his structure, muscle, length, pigmentation and overall balance. We then saw some of his progeny at the show and knew that even though we had a heavy influence of his sire in our program, Bardia could still play a role. After receiving the semen in the USA, Bardia was named the 2017 Australian Brahman Sire of the Year and then in 2018 sired the BEEF Week Champion Female. We have used Bardia on a limited basis (14 registered progeny) due to our heavy Ambassador influence but several of his offspring have been outstanding to include ECC Polled Maverick 302/9, ECC Polled Rio Queen 483/0 who sells as Lot 3, and a sale feature in our 2020 sale, ECC Polled Rebecca 108/8. The terms and guarantees listed on this page shall constitute a contract between the buyer and the seller of each animal sold. Announcements from the auction box will take precedence over the printed matter in this catalog and all other announcements made online or otherwise.
BIDDING
Each animal on which there are two or more bids will be sold to the highest bidder.
TERMS
All sales are final. All cattle will be paid for immediately following the sale, unless prior arrangements have been made. All purchases will be settled for in U.S. funds by cash, cashier’s check or personal check with bank letter of guarantee. No drafts will be accepted. Checks must be made payable to England Cattle Co. All buyers must register in person at the sale office or online with Cattle in Motion to receive a buyer number and other important information.
DISPUTES
The auctioneer in charge will settle any disputes as to bids and his decision on such matters will be final.
LIABILITIES
All persons who attend the sale do so at their own risk and England Cattle Co. and sale manager assume no liability, legal or otherwise, for any accident that may occur. England Cattle Company or sale management accepts no liability for the animals after they are sold.
BREEDERS GUARANTEE
Every animal in this sale is, to the best of the breeder’s knowledge, free from any disease and are all sound. Bred females will be considered breeders without further guarantee. Buyer has 30 days from the date of the sale to have an accredited veterinarian check pregnancy status of bred females. Open or exposed females will be guaranteed by the seller to be a breeder. If an animal fails to breed it may be returned to the seller in good condition. Seller reserves the right to try said animal for six months and if it proves to be a breeder, return it at the buyer’s expense. If the animal proves to be a non-breeder, an animal of comparable rank or credit on the purchase of another animal will be offered.
HEALTH
All necessary health papers will be furnished in order for the cattle to be shipped anywhere.
TRANSPORTATION
It is the responsibility of the buyer to make all shipping and transportation arrangements. All cattle must be picked up from England Cattle Co. (ECC) within 30 days of the sale. Any cattle left at ECC after 30 days will be subject to a daily feeding and management charge of $15 per day, unless prior arrangement have been made. Cattle purchased within a 150 mile radius of Mercedes, Texas will be delivered at no charge. Transportation services will

LOT-SPECIFIC TERMS
Lot 1: ECC will retain half (1/2) interest in ECC Polled Bluebell 460/0 and ECC Polled Velvet 485/0. Buyer will be purchasing half (1/2) interest (ownership and possession) of heifer chosen. ECC is willing to continue to show the heifer for the duration of her show career with approval from buyer and agreement that all show costs including but not limited to feeding, registration fees and travel expenses will be split 50/50. Lots 5-7: Heifers to remain in ECC’s possession until weaned and halter broke. Heifers will be halter broke at sellers expense. Lots 2-7; 9-17: ECC reserves the right to one (1) flush or the split of two (2) flushes, minimum of six (6) embryos on all heifers in the sale. Lot 8: ECC will retain half (1/2) interest in ECC Polled William 352/9 and ECC Polled Harry 353/9. Buyer will be purchasing half (1/2) interest (ownership and possession) of bull chosen. ECC is willing to continue to show the bull for the duration of his show career with approval from buyer and agreement that all show costs including but not limited to feeding, registration fees and travel expenses will be split 50/50. Lots 18-21: All semen sales are for in-herd AI and ET use, only. Semen sales are non-refundable and non-transferable. Upon calving, ECC will provide buyers with a maximum of five (5) certificates. Additional certificates may be purchased for $100 per certificate.

Got to www.CattleInMotion.com. Once on Cattle In Motion, click on England Cattle Co. “Brahmans on the Rio” Production Sale. Scroll down to the bottom of the event page and click on Click Here to Bid on and watch, and this will take you to Live Sale Platform. You must create an account to bid on this sale. Go to the top right and create an account. If you already have an account, Click on England Cattle Co. “Brahmans on the Rio” Production Sale and accept the terms and conditions of the sale. In order to bid you must have entered a credit card to verify your identity. CIM will not charge your credit card for purchases from the sale. Sale Staff will contact you about paying for your purchases. After all these steps are followed you will be able to click on the Enter Auction button. This Sale will have pre-bidding, this means prior to the sale you will be able to place bids on lots that will then be applied to lots during the live sale. Pre-bidding will open at 7 a.m. on Friday, May 21 and will continue until one hour before the LIVE sale broadcast begins.
