Jobin George, P.Eng.
Current Focus: I aim to achieve success in engineering for a sustainable future. By using the latest technologies and computational power to build my knowledge and practical experience, I want to contribute to society’s betterment and empower tomorrow’s infrastructure.
Inspirations: My main inspiration to pursue civil engineering is Mr. E. Sreedharan (a.k.a. Metro Man) from India. He has garnered many accolades and been honoured with “Padma Shri” by the government of India. He has laid down the foundation of modern infrastructure engineering in India.
Samantha Zareski, P.Eng.
Current Focus: I am an environmental engineer working in consulting, specifically on contaminated site projects with a focus in per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS)-related contamination.
Inspirations: I am extremely passionate about encouraging and representing women in the fields of engineering and environmental sciences. Additionally, working in the environmental sector was inspired from my drive to help protect our planet for future generations and contribute to a more sustainable earth. Pursuing engineering has allowed me to work in a space that keeps me motivated to make impactful and necessary improvements to our environment.
Patrick LeClair, P.Eng.
Current Focus: I am currently working at COVE to manage innovative projects helping to grow the marine sector. Through this work, I collaborate with a variety of fantastic partners to develop new and novel technologies. My focus is to continually work on cutting-edge technologies and help to further technological innovation in Nova Scotia.
Inspirations: I am constantly inspired by the innovation and growth happening right here in Halifax. It’s been fantastic to see new companies finding homes and expanding here and I hope to continually be part of this exciting and vibrant ecosystem.
Amad Ud Din, P.Eng.
Current Focus: I’m focused on construction of ports and Maritimes infrastructure. I aim to lead sustainable projects, turning a vision into tangible and impactful outcomes.
Inspirations: I’m driven by tangible societal impact on livelihood and fostering economic growth post-completion, which fuels my pursuit and passion for building Maritimes facility infrastructures.
Ayomide Charles, P.Eng.
Current Focus: My focus is project management within civil and environmental engineering.
Inspirations: My family inspires me, and my beliefs also inspire me. I was raised to believe that anything is possible if a person believes. Each time I remember this, I’m inspired to believe and do more. I also get inspiration from books.
Justin Clouthier, P.Eng.
Current Focus: I’m currently focusing on systems engineering within the naval domain.
Inspirations: I’m working towards advancements in additive manufacturing and material sciences. As well, I’m utilizing experience in systems and chemical engineering domains and applying best practices towards providing innovative technologies in the materials science industry. I want to specifically increase sustainability and cost effectiveness within additive manufacturing.
David Idemudia, P.Eng.
Current Focus: My focus is bridge engineering.
Inspirations: I am inspired by my family and a passion for connecting communities.
Clifford Ojukannaiye, P.Eng.
Current Focus: My focus is industrial engineering.
Inspirations: I am inspired to utilize new technologies and methodologies to chart pathways for sustainable solutions to industrial and social challenges. This will culminate in products becoming more available, processes more efficient, cost more affordable and quality more reliable.
Nicole Deveau, P.Eng.
Current Focus: My focus is civil engineering.
Inspirations: I want to continue to explore my field of engineering and witness my projects come to life, from conceptual design to construction. I learn so much from the people around me every day and recognize that there is still much I do not know. As I enhance my engineering skill set, I can take on more responsibility, allowing me to wake up excited to see where my day will lead.
Rasoul Rajabi Khamesi, P.Eng.
Current Focus: As an experienced HVAC designer, my focus lies in creating energy-efficient and sustainable building ventilation systems and optimizing designs, ensuring they meet local standards and codes while prioritizing sustainability.
Inspirations: My passion for innovative green building solutions drives me to create high-performance, eco-friendly designs that enhance comfort and efficiency. By prioritizing sustainability, I aim to benefit the planet, ensure comfort for occupants and deliver value to stakeholders.
Ivanna Bashkir, P.Eng.
Current Focus: My current focus is on the mechanical design of uninterruptible power supplies for the Navy.
Inspirations: I’m most passionate about mechanical engineering, thermal and nuclear power plants, and the development of power supplies and energy-efficient technologies. I’m excited to continue expanding my knowledge and skills to make a positive impact on the power industry.
Stephen Snow, P.Eng.
Current Focus: My focus is environmental engineering.
Inspirations: I hope to continue developing my technical skills in both contaminated sites and hazardous materials, leveraging my abilities to help deliver environmental solutions that meet the operational needs of the Department of National Defence and Canadian Armed Forces.
Nicholas Cottreau, P.Eng.
Current Focus: I’m currently working as a structural engineer and construction project manager at one of the larger general contractors in southwest Nova Scotia. I’m involved in all types of projects, small and large, from residential to large scale commercial projects. I’m currently focused on continuing to expand my engineering skillset and experience to be able to implement this knowledge into the projects I’m working on.
Inspirations: I’m inspired by all the unique and different engineering projects around the world, and the various solutions that are used to overcome obstacles. It promotes thinking outside the box and applying core engineering principles.
Mehdi Khazaei, P.Eng.
Current Focus: I’m currently an electrical engineer specializing in designing electrical systems for industrial projects and substations.
Inspirations: My passion for renewable energy drives me to transition into designing solar and wind energy systems. I am inspired by the potential of these technologies to provide sustainable and environmentally friendly power solutions for the future.
Roderick Naugler, P.Eng.
Current Focus: : I work with the Royal Canadian Navy in the Project Management Office for the new Canadian Surface Combatant.
I am currently responsible for the Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) area of the project. This leverages my electrical engineering degree as well as my training as a combat systems engineer.
Benjamin Smith, P.Eng.
Current Focus: I am currently focused on refining my skills as a construction estimator and expanding my knowledge of real-world engineering applications. In the future, I would like to use my strengths to make a positive impact on environmental sustainability.
Inspirations: I’ve always been a lover of math and science. I like to think that engineering has provided me with a path where I can chase my dreams of making positive change in the world.
Megan Foran, P.Eng.
Current Focus: My current focus is excelling in my position as a project manager. I aim to bring my engineering skillset into this role and inspire other young professionals in the industry.
Inspirations: My inspirations are all my mentors who have supported me along my career thus far. In particular, the amazing women I work with in a mostly male dominated industry.

Current Focus: My focus is process optimization and project improvement.
Inspirations: My passion lies in the application of engineering knowledge to resolve industrial and manufacturing challenges. I am driven persistently to refine and advance my skills in this field. My goal is to create a safe, convenient and sustainable work environment for those who interact with processes and machines daily.
Alaaeldin Mohamed, P.Eng.
Current Focus: : I’m focused on expanding my expertise in hardware design and enhancing my knowledge of artificial intelligence hardware architectures.
Inspirations: I’m inspired to drive breakthroughs in efficiency and performance, shaping the future of intelligent computing.
Nick Sanga, P.Eng.
Current Focus: My enthusiasm for leveraging cutting-edge technology to enhance naval operations drives my research interests and fosters a forward-looking approach to addressing industry challenges.
Inspirations: The exemplary leadership of past black Naval leaders, such as Rear Admiral L.C. Chambers, who commanded an aircraft carrier during the Vietnam War, inspires me immensely. Their legacy motivates me to seek further education and to prioritize serving my country above all else.
Islam Abdelhady, P.Eng.
Current Focus: My focus is geotechnical engineering.
Inspirations: I aim to gain the experience and knowledge that will improve my technical and practical skills in the geotechnical field, as well as participate in different complex projects in Nova Scotia and across Canada.
Adnane Rayyad, P.Eng.
Current Focus: I focus on mechanical engineering and project management.
Inspirations: I am committed to making a positive impact in high-standard environments through my technical expertise, leadership and project management skills to enhance systems. My goals include improving project efficiency while maintaining a paramount focus on public safety.
Jhoven Cafirma, P.Eng.
Current Focus: I plan to further improve my skillset in the structural engineering sector while being exposed to a diverse range of projects such as bridges, residential buildings and commercial structures. I see myself taking on a more complex role as I continue to evolve as a professional engineer.
Inspirations: The trust and confidence demonstrated by my employer and colleagues in my capabilities during my journey to the professional engineer designation has motivated me. Their unwavering support has fueled my enthusiasm to continuously improve and excel in my work.
Melika Hassanpouramiri, P.Eng.
Current Focus: As a quality manager at Graphite Innovation & Technologies, I establish a customer complaints management strategy.
Inspirations: I aspire to take more online courses and conferences. In addition, the classic book, “Out of the Crisis” by W. Edwards Deming, has provided me with insights on the philosophy of quality management as well as the principles that have shaped modern quality control practices.
Fadi Aldbai, P.Eng.
Current Focus: : My focus is civil engineering with a specialization of the building envelope.
Inspirations: I aspire to maximize the performance of the building envelope to improve improve energy efficiency, occupant comfort and sustainability.
Joshua Richard, P.Eng.
Current Focus: As an area field engineer for non-process infrastructure at the Jansen Potash Project, I manage a team of engineers who provide technical support for stage one of a greenfield potash mine. This includes a tailings management area, buried electrical and piping networks, power distribution substations and concrete structures to support the process buildings.
Inspirations: I aspire to become a well-respected and knowledgeable engineer amongst my colleagues in the construction industry. I strive to continue to take on the challenge of working on mega-projects and building the extraordinaire.
Adrienne Hynes, P.Eng.
Current Focus: My focus is aerospace engineering, specifically spacecraft ground station design.
Inspirations: I’m inspired by the incredible advancements in space technology, allowing us to discover more about our planet and galaxy.
Rupak Kanti Dhar, P.Eng.
Current Focus: I’m currently working in the automotive industry, focusing on efficient electrical vehicle transmission validation and testing. Also, I am developing a hardware in-the-loop simulation system for electrical control unit testing.
David Gibson, P.Eng.
Current Focus: I’m passionate about driving improvements in innovation and productivity within my region and abroad.
My current focus is leveraging the latest in automation, visualization and simulation technologies to drive improvements and scaling plans for manufacturing businesses in Atlantic Canada.
Clod Ibrahim, P.Eng.
Current Focus: As a civil engineer with previous experience in residential building, my current focus is coordinating the construction and management of high-rise buildings. I specialize in ensuring structural integrity, safety and efficiency, while incorporating sustainable and innovative practices.
Inspirations: I’m fascinated by the blend of artistry and engineering required to create iconic buildings that stand as symbols of human ingenuity and progress.
William Keirstead, P.Eng.
Current Focus: My focus is engineering sales (HVAC).
Inspirations: As I enter the world of technical sales, I want to start to build relationships which grow my network within the HVAC-R industry.
Morgan Cox, P.Eng.
Current Focus: My focus is within industrial engineering and transit planning.
Inspirations: Throughout my career thus far, I have found that innovative and inspired ideas begin with the people who interact with the problem or solution regularly. This has inspired me to seek out diverse teams and experiences and motivated me to collaborate. I strive to continue my career, seeking people with talent and passion who I can uplift and empower.
Amy Price, P.Eng.
Current Focus: My focus is naval architecture and marine engineering.
Inspirations: I’m inspired to make a safer marine environment for seafarers and marine life alike, whether that is through designing safer ships, safer research operations, or designing the equipment used to study and protect our ocean environment.
Omoregbe Bello, P.Eng.
Current Focus: My current areas of focus are asset integrity management, corrosion engineering, metallurgy, failure analysis, material selection, risk-based inspection and assessment and project management.
Inspirations: As an asset integrity engineer, I am motivated by scientific progress, industry standard, sustainability initiatives and cutting-edge diagnostic instruments. My passion for problem solving and lifelong learning is fueled by professional networking, historical engineering marvels and successful projects. All of this drives me to prioritize safety.
Anna Maria Zakhem, P.Eng.
Current Focus: My focus is geotechnical engineering.
Inspirations: I find inspiration in the direct impact my work has on the infrastructure safety and stability, contributing to society’s wellbeing. The field’s constant evolution with new technologies offers endless learning opportunities, and the challenge of solving complex problems drives my passion.
Paul Diamond, P.Eng.
Current Focus: My focus is commercial and industrial steel-framed buildings.
Inspirations: I want to bring more mass-timber and passive house to commercial and institutional construction in the Maritimes. I would also like to work with housing co-ops, sustainable infill developments and other community-oriented places.
Jason Huskilson, P.Eng.
Current Focus: As the CEO of a manufacturer of engineered products, ABCO Industries, I have added innovative products to achieve rapid growth. Uncrewed surface vessels, electrification of fully welded aluminum boats and novel control systems for food production, are a few of the exciting new products that ABCO is using to expand our markets around the globe.
Inspirations: Chris Huskilson, my father, is an incredible mentor. He challenges me, is supportive and is accessible. He’s a big part of the reason for the trajectory of my career.

Current Focus: My current focus is to solidify my expertise as an offshore drilling supervisor, while staying updated with industry trends to lead with innovation and excellence.
Inspirations: Drawing inspiration from the challenges I face on the rig, I am committed to continuous learning and professional development, ensuring I stay at the forefront of offshore drilling innovations.

Current Focus: My current focus is on deploying an operational excellence model in aerospace supply chain, thereby making it more agile and nimble.
Inspirations: I take my inspiration from my diverse industry experience like auto, manufacturing, consumer products, financial services and aerospace across geographies. I played a pivotal role in a couple of world class organizations deploying continuous improvement with the aim of building capabilities within organizations.

Current Focus: I’m focused on mechanical design in the marine industry.
Inspirations: I’ve been inspired by the notion of applying science and engineering principles to enact real-world change within the ocean sphere in Nova Scotia and beyond.
Ceilidh Bray, P.Eng.
Current Focus: As an infrastructure advisor, I focus on a variety of projects that include feasibility studies, workplace strategies, stakeholder engagement workshops, capital planning, as well as analyzing organizational governance, strategic planning and organizational growth.
Inspirations: Community development projects are the most inspiring. I can see the direct impact of these mandates on communities around Canada, addressing immediate needs and providing support for future growth and sustainability.
