PAYTON & TRENT

In Payton’s words, “Trent and I could be considered the typical ‘high school sweethearts.’ He asked me to be his girlfriend six years ago in 2014. Life is so fun with him and I knew he was the man I would spend the rest of my life with. In 2019, he proposed to me while we were on a family vacation in Gatlinburg. We planned on having our wedding June 2020, locally, with all our friends and family. With the newly found COVID, we had to postpone our wedding to July 25th, 2020 in hopes to have everyone celebrate with us at a further date.”

“As the time got closer, we started worrying about having a big wedding during COVID. With less than two weeks until our big day, my matron of honor suggested just having our ceremony at Garden of the Gods in Illinois. We knew this what we needed to do, but I would be lying if I said I was not upset the day we dreamed about and put so much work into was not going to happen like we had planned. We had a small ceremony, immediate family, and bridal party to witness us getting married. Although the day did not go as planned, it could not have worked out better. It was perfect for us, and in the end, we were married which is the most important thing. Being with the people who loved us most that day was such a special feeling. This whole experience taught me to more ‘go with the flow’ because in the end, it turned out better and more beautiful than we had originally planned.”
