lack Sea Oil and Gas (BSOG) will complete its first gas project at the Black Sea by the end of this year, while investing up to now about 600 million USD in the project, Mark Beacom, CEO of the company told Energynomics.

What are the main investments BSOG has developed in Romania so far, and when will BSOG’s first gas molecule be extracted from the Black Sea? How much money have been invested and what are the details of the future planned investments? We are currently a single asset company with a very clear mandate, to start producing gas from the MGD Project, which happens to be the 1st new offshore gas development project in the Romanian Black Sea to be built in over 30 years, by the end of 2021. We are now in the execution phase of the MGD Project and so far, we reached an overall completion of 70%. Laying the subsea pipeline, installing the jacket at Ana location and uncrossing the shore area with the gas pipeline are already completed. The outlook for the following period includes completing the fabrication of the Ana topside, the installation of the topside onto the jacket at the Ana location in the Black Sea and drilling of the five production wells. The remainder of the onshore activities, including the Gas Treatment Plant and onshore pipeline, are expected to be completed by Q4 2021 with the first production of gas expected to occur in Q4 2021. The XV Midia Shallow block concession holders have so far invested $200 million in exploration activities and the MGD Project involves additional investments of $400 million until its completion. Additionally, BSOG is investigating the potential use of the MGD Project infrastructure to accommodate other producers’ gas discoveries and to pursue green energy projects both during and after the production life of the Ana and Doina gas fields in the MGD Project. How is the new price of gas going to evolve in the short to mid-term, and how is it going to affect your IRR or any other companies’ in this field? Gas price forecasting involves solving a very complex interaction between supply and demand
