A holistic design approach
Enea’s philosophy is to create a symbiosis between exterior and interior. In our design approach we embrace the existing landscape and bring the garden into harmony with its surroundings. The materials and furniture of the interior spaces respond to the colours and textures of the exterior, thereby blurring the boundaries between inside and out.

Enea’s approach has parallels with the grafting procedure in the world of botany: in this method of horticulture, a branch is removed and wedged into a stronger branch, where it grows again. This results in a more beautiful and stronger plant. “What sounds simple is actually extremely complex to achieve. It is often the case that a huge amount of work and know-how goes into the design drafts that appear simple and natural,” explains Enzo Enea. Traditional Japanese joining techniques were used for the custom-made wooden constructions in the ceiling area, resembling a pergola, an Enea trademark.

Natural materials, including wood and stone, which are signature elements in Enea’s projects, combined with a consistently high quality of craftsmanship and a timeless sleek design have been used in the design of this store. These warm materials create a welcoming and lively ambiance, and the store exudes the feeling of being in an intimate, protected wooden cave.

The “genius loci”
Enzo Enea’s creative approach is reflected in the unifying character he gives to the entire project site. He allows nature and architecture as well as the exterior and interior spaces to flow into each other –consistently in tune with the prevailing genius loci, the “spirit of the place”.
The house as a combination of different stories
Enzo Enea’s private collection of works of design and art from different cultures and places is an important source of inspiration when selecting furniture and accessories of a project.
Every item the Enea team chooses has its own origin and its own history, which are in symbiosis with Enea’s philosophy. The furniture chosen for a project matches each project location and story. Original vintage pieces may be intergrated with existing furniture already owned by the client or combined with more modern pieces carefully selected from state of the art companies and designers.
