MULTIFUNCTION POLE PRODUCT OVERVIEW

We understand the incredible power for good that public place represents and we are committed to helping cities and land authorities around the world deliver it.
We offer beautifully designed multifunction poles that discretely integrate digital services that deliver better, more liveable urban spaces for the people who live there.
HUB’s multifunction poles are light poles. They look good, and function well. And every city needs them – for our streets, parks, plazas and other important public spaces.
Lighting supports a critical public service, helping make places safer at night.
But as cities embrace digital services, data collection and analytics, to better manage places and services, our multifunction poles get smarter.
They evolve from being single function infrastructure, to futureproofed digital enablers able to adapt to the rapidly changing needs of the public realm.
Our multifunction poles have the ability to host a range of telecommunications equipment, media platforms, visitor engagement, safety equipment, environmental monitoring devices and place-use sensors.
And if needed, a dashboard to bring asset control and data insights into the hands of public place decision makers.
But above all, our multifunction poles are light poles.
HUB has created a family of multifunction poles to meet the unique needs of cities. They improve public experience through the enablement of digital services and enhance urban outcomes for communities.
They are scalable, digitally enabled and future-proofed.
We present the SMART.HUB, SMART.POLE and SMART.NODE™.
Every city has a need for street lighting.
SMART.HUB allows you to harness the potential of your lighting infrastructure and implement a range of innovative devices and accessories using the unique collar system.
This frictionless collar design allows accessories to be attached to the pole, with the added functionality of rotating 360 degrees to enhance its level of 'readiness'.
Simple, beautiful and smart. The SMART.HUB.
The SMART.POLE incorporates a track-based system that relies on a unique aluminum extrusion to achieve its functionality.
Accessories fix to the pole by utilising this track which provides a discrete connection detail. This is a truly multifunctional system that accommodates a full range of pole mounted accessories that are commonly deployed within the public domain.
SMART.NODE™ is the world's most advanced street light alternative, ready to accommodate a full suite of digital devices and other accessories.
Featuring a sleek integrated design, the award winning SMART.NODE™ can be fully customised around your needs for applications related to communications, energy supply, safety, transport, environmental monitoring, infrastructure and more. It's also designed to evolve with public places over time.
Install new devices and accessories, ugprade existing services and maintain with ease.
The modular design of the SMART.NODE™ allows for the discrete integration of a range of digital services inside the pole circumference. Every Multi-Technology Module (MTM) zone is a blank canvas ready to facilitate the evolving needs of digital services.
Cities are forecasting that as a result of 5G and the Internet of Things (IoT), there will be 100 times more connected equipment in our public spaces in the next five years. The challenge faced by authorities, then, is how to accommodate and integrate the impending wave of digital services equipment to make cities better for people.
HUB recognised this challenge ten years ago and sought to develop the most advanced digital services enabler available today: the SMART.NODE™. As a modular and flexible piece of public infrastructure, the result is a managed and integrated outcome designed for the long-term.
Our multifunction poles are supplementing small cell networks in Australia and across the world today. For example the SMART.NODE™ can host up to three mobile operators, each accommodating 4G and 5G small cells. These small cells connect to a shared antennae system mounted within the pole.
Creating WI-FI networks is also possible, to support staff, contractors, the public and countless IoT applications, with low latency and high reliability.
You can open the way for interoperability between smart devices and machines through the use of low-power wide-area networks. Use in tandem with WI-FI to support a vast array of IoT applications.
Whether it’s the emergence of the IoT or the ever increasing demand for faster connectivity, HUB leads with a robust range of digital enablers that improve safety, quality of life, access and connection.
Never before have cities been so empowered to do good. The roll-out of digital infrastructure opens the way for major advances in the way cities communicate, provide power, care for the environment, keep people safe and coordinate activities in public places.
Here are some of the digital services that can be supported by HUB's multifunction poles.
