WHO ARE WE
Endo Black, Inc. is a black-women-led nonprofit organization advocating for African American women and women of color living with endometriosis. Endo Black, Incorporated, located in Oxon Hill, MD, provides African American women and women of color with a safe space. Endo Black, Incorporated has connected thousands of African American women and women of color. African American women are constantly misdiagnosed, have limited resources, and have little research for African American women. Misdiagnosed: Being misdiagnosed is harmful because women can't get the proper care if they don't have the correct diagnoses. Limited resources: There are limited resources provided to African American women, which can cause even more hardship for women leaving them to suffer in silence. Many women are diagnosed and left with no answers or knowing where to turn next. Little research: Years of little research have caused medical professionals to believe that only "white women" can be diagnosed with endometriosis. www.endoblack.org

THE YEAR
Endo Black, Incorporated is dedicated to implementing programs that focus on enhancing a safe environment, health equity, and the educational wellbeing of the local community. The EB Program includes four program targets that are tailored to advance the mission of Endo Black, Incorporated, with four commitments to sustainable service. The four program targets are: Changing the Narrative Health Equity and Racial Injustice Women’s Reproductive Health and Wellness Social Impact Throughout the year, Endo Black, Inc. has achieved noteworthy milestones. Here's a glimpse of some of our successes.
At the beginning of the year, Endo Black, Inc. received the MLK Day of Service Target Grant, enabling our first-ever event where 21 volunteers, including representatives from Target and Sumitomo Pharma America, Inc. , came together to pack 500 bags of menstrual products. Each bag contained tampons, pads, menstrual health literature and more, resulting in over 5,000 menstrual items.

We exceeded our expectations by supporting eight schools across Prince George’s County, Anne Arundel County, and Baltimore County with Providing Items Now to Kids (P.I.N.K.) Period Care Kits. A total of 1,300 kits were distributed, comprising over 13,000 essential items. As part of our P.I.N.K. initiative, we extended our impact by providing non-toxic tampons to be housed in the bathrooms of our esteemed partners, Congress Heights Arts and Culture Center in Washington, DC, and Creative Suitland in Suitland, MD.
Our dedication to social Impact is critical. In 2023, we donated an impressive 18,634 period items, including feminine wipes, tampons, and pads, to our partner organizations such as District Alliance Safe Housing, Morgan State University Prince George’s County Alumni Chapter, PERIOD Washington, DC Chapter, Black Girls Vote, The National Council of Negro Women - Morgan State University, the Patriot Period Project, among others. Our collaboration with community partners CORA, Goodwipes, LOLA, and Joni has further strengthened our impact. www.endoblack.org

We launched the Mini Talk Series as a pilot program at Howard University and Morgan State University in April 2023. The series garnered a total of 56 attendees, including 5 men and 51 women, with an age range between 18 and 40. Impressively, 81.8% of attendees were students. This pilot program, designed to impact the lives of young women matriculating through college, marks a significant step in our ongoing commitment to empower and inspire the next generation to become advocates of their own health.

Endo Black, Inc. hosted four virtual events tackling crucial topics like Cannabis in the African American Community, Endo and its Impact on Caribbean People in America, Mocktails & Cocktails; Let's Talk Mental Health, and Mocktails & Cocktails; Let's Talk Sex. This will end our Mocktails & cocktails and virtual series programming.
Two impactful workshops on African Americans and Endometriosis were hosted, one in collaboration with the Prince George's County Memorial Library System and the other with the Howard University Society of Students of Obstetric Gynecological. These workshops were facilitated by Kimether Redmon, MPH, MSN, FNP-C, our nurse practitioner and endo sister. We're thankful for the opportunity to cultivate an ongoing relationship with PGCMLS.

Our fundraising endeavors have thrived, welcoming 42 new donors and engaging in 35 impactful peer-to-peer fundraising campaigns on Facebook. We are thrilled to announce a cumulative achievement of $50,034.95 in donations. Noteworthy contributions include $11,500 from grants and $29,500 from valuable sponsorships. Other donations were received through various channels, including Benevity, Amazon Smile, Facebook and Instagram fundraisers, checks, cash donations, and more.
