ello Endeavor, and Happy New Year! Welcome to the first edition of Endeavor Matters for 2024.

By now, you have already seen the scorecard for the 2023 Flight Plan and heard the highlights.

We achieved 35 out of 48 OPRs, plus record-breaking operational performance for operational difficulty index (ODI), global injury rate (GIR), on-time departures (D0) and on-time arrivals (A0). What a tremendous comeback from 2022 and momentum builder for even greater things in the year ahead.

We kicked off 2024 with two exciting announcements: the onetime special recognition payment of $1,500 to all employees in recognition of our accomplishments in 2023, and the launch of the new Annual Operational Performance Recognition Plan (AOPR). I am glad to see Endeavor people recognized for our accomplishments with the special payment, and more excited that Endeavor now has a permanent, annual, recognition program in place to incentivize and reward Endeavor employees for outstanding performance throughout the year.

Of course, the new AOPR program is on top of the already established OPR program which will continue,

with some updates. The categories in the monthly OPR program have been updated to include: - A0 – percentage of flights arriving on-time throughout the day - CCF – controllable completion factor, which includes crew/ maintenance cancels, but excludes cancels caused by weather/ATC - MTC/Crew 3+HR Delay – Crew and maintenance delays that are greater than 179 minutes; shown as a rate per 1000 departures - FFD0 – Percentage of on-time first flights of the day The new OPR categories shift the focus of the program to metrics more in our direct control and areas every Endeavor employee can more directly impact to create outstanding results each month. The value amount of the OPR program has not changed; employees will be eligible for a payment of up to $360 each quarter, depending on our performance in each category.

The possibilities that the start of a new year brings are always exciting to me. I hope you enjoy the stories in this issue of Endeavor Matters and are inspired by the new things happening at Endeavor in 2024. You will find an interview with Endeavor’s two newest senior

There is no doubt that we will face challenges in the year ahead, as we continue to rebuild our airline and prepare for future growth, but I have found that Endeavor people take every challenge that comes our way as an opportunity to learn and grow.

I have every confidence that we will continue to raise the bar for the regional industry and continue on our path to be the Premier Regional Airline.

Please keep safety first as we navigate the specific challenges that winter weather brings to our operation. Our past safety performance is something we should take great pride in, but not to be taken for granted. Thank you for your continued diligence when it comes to protecting the safety of our customers, our people and our operation.

Q&A with Ginny and Dave In November, Jim Graham announced organizational changes to Endeavor’s Human Resources team, including the retirement of Jodie Douglas, who led the HR team at Endeavor for more than ten years. In the wake of Jodie’s departure, Ginny Zarras was promoted to Vice President, Human Resources, and Dave Driscoll was promoted to Vice President, Labor/ Employee Relations & Compliance.

Working together, Ginny and Dave will oversee different areas of the HR organization to continue delivering on programs and initiatives vital to Endeavor’s success. Ginny has responsibility for HR functions including talent acquisition, employee engagement and satisfaction, benefits, compensation, leadership development and learning, organizational effectiveness, employee relations, compliance and communications. Dave oversees management of labor/union contract affairs and negotiations, employee relations, and HR administrative functions, including Pass Travel, and the DOT Drug and Alcohol Program.

We sat down with Ginny and Dave to learn more about their new roles, their visions for Endeavor’s future, and what it means to be the “premier regional airline.”

How will your two positions work together to oversee HR functions?

Ginny: While we will each have oversight over different areas of HR, our positions will complement one another and help us to better facilitate collaboration among the HR functions. Dave and I will partner to ensure that the Human Resources work groups are working together effectively and efficiently and sharing information. This new reporting relationship strengthens that collaboration amongst HR, which in turn helps to support the entire organization.

What goals do you each have for the first six months in your new position?

Ginny: My primary focus is on the people of Endeavor, ensuring our culture remains strong. The other big project for the HR team, which is also going to impact the rest of the organization, is the implementation of a new HRIS system, Dayforce. Our target to go-live is July 1, so that is a key project for HR this year in collaboration with Payroll and IT. The third focus for me is ensuring that we are preparing our leaders for the future through various leadership development opportunities.

Dave: I want to keep the momentum we have as a department. We have positions to fill on my team, so the primary goal for Q1 is to get everyone in the right chair. I also want to grow as a leader and learn more about the different functions of HR that Ginny oversees so that we can work together and collaborate.

What can employees expect from you as leaders?

Dave: I want to be a defender of our culture and our people across the organization. The value proposition of working at Endeavor Air is so much more than compensation; it’s how we take care of our people. I like to work hard, and play hard, too. I want employees to know I care about what goes on outside of work, too.

Work is a small part of our lives, regardless of how much time we spend here.

Ginny: First and foremost, I’m committed to making Endeavor a great place to work. As a leader, I am people-focused; I'm going to have your back, and I will be open, honest and transparent. While we are moving forward as a company, we also want to make sure we're having fun and enjoying what we do.

What is your vision for Endeavor’s next chapter?

Ginny: I think growth and change is exciting, and in this industry, we're going to see a lot of that in the coming years. I think there's going to be a lot of opportunity for people at Endeavor if you want to learn and grow and explore different aspects of the industry. It’s exciting to be able to lead that, and to be able to grow employees into what we need going forward.

Dave: There are a lot of exciting things in Endeavor’s future, but one of our biggest strengths as a company is our ability to be nimble and flexible when things do change.

We need to be focused on our flight plan, running a great operation, and taking care of our people, but also strategic about how to position Endeavor for long-term success.

From a “people” perspective, what does it mean to be “the premier regional airline”?

Ginny: The core role of HR is to understand our business well enough so that we can infuse the “people” side of the business every opportunity we can. We want to make sure that our leadership is always mindful of the people side of our business. Being the premier regional airline also means having pride in our

work. We can attract and retain top talent that way in support of our operation.

Dave: We want this to be a place where people want to come to work every day. As a leader, it means being engaged and knowing your employees, and ensuring your team believes in the mission and wants to be part of Endeavor’s success.

Announcing Annual Operating Performance Recognition & OPR Updates Endeavor has launched the new Annual Operational Performance Recognition (AOPR) plan to recognize employees for their contributions to Endeavor’s operational success. The new program provides an opportunity for employees up through the manager level to earn an annual cash incentive payment.

The AOPR plan is linked to the number of Operational Performance Recognition (OPR) targets achieved throughout the year.

• A minimum number of OPRs will need to be met over the course of the year for the AOPR incentive payment to be triggered. If the minimum number of OPRs is not achieved (which is 21 for 2024), the plan will not pay an annual incentive.

• Once the minimum number of OPRs is achieved, the annual AOPR incentive payment will range from $1,000 to $2,000 based on the number of OPR goals achieved throughout the plan year. The payment amount will be scaled if the number of OPRs is between minimum and target or between target and maximum.

• The incentive payment will be paid annually in the 1st quarter following the end of the calendar year.

The categories in the OPR program have been updated for 2024 and will now include Controllable Completion Factor (CCF), On-time Arrivals (A0), Maintenance & Crew 3+HR Delays, and First Flight On-time Departure (FFD0).

The monthly payment for reaching each OPR target is unchanged this year – it will continue to be $30 per metric, with an annual maximum of $1,440.

“It is my hope that these programs will motivate and reward employees for excellent operational performance for years to come,” said Jim Graham, CEO. “Endeavor people are the very best in the business and we will set the standard to be the Premier Regional Airline.”

LEADERSHIP UPDATES KATELYN VANHEEL Sr. Manager, IFS Business & Services → Director, IFS and Technology Katelyn VanHeel has been promoted to the position of Director, Inflight Services and Technology. Katelyn has been with Endeavor for over 9 years, first starting her career with the company in the finance department. She moved to Inflight Services in 2019, where she served as the Business & Onboard Service Manager, and most recently as the Senior Manager, IFS Business & Services.

In her 5 years in the Inflight department, Katelyn has been instrumental in bringing exciting new initiatives and opportunities. She will now oversee all Inflight Services, which includes finance, business initiatives, uniforms, recognition, and communication programs, as well as technology, which includes the SkyPro program. Congratulations, Katelyn!

Endeavor People in the Community Endeavor people continuously go above and beyond to make a positive impact on the communities around them. In 2023, Endeavor employees tallied a total number of 7,197 volunteer hours, as reported in the Endeavor's Elite portal. That equates to 300 days of service! Volunteer events included plane pulls, packing food, Bert's Big Adventure, serving meals, donation drives, and much more.

Endeavor Goes Paperless with Electronic Flight Release Reducing waste and improving efficiency by eliminating the process of printing flight documents at the gate

Endeavor Air officially transitioned to electronic flight releases on January 17, reducing waste and improving efficiency by eliminating the process of printing flight documents at the gate.

Part of Delta’s paperless gates initiative, the transition will save 24,000+ pages of paper daily for Endeavor flights alone.

“This transition comes after more than three years of development and testing,” said Jeremy Hood, Manager, Sabre Systems and Flight Ops Technology, who has managed the project since its inception. “While it has a huge environmental impact, we worked hard to ensure the application and process improve the experience and quality of life for our pilots as well.”

The project introduces a new EFB application for pilots called eFlight Manager (eFM), which provides critical flight information in a digital format. Endeavor is the first airline to use the eFM product in North America, and the transition follows a thorough and thoughtful process of development and testing – including collecting feedback from pilot test users -- to ensure it was ready for takeoff.

“Instead of the dispatcher sending the flight release and the pilot relying on a gate agent to print it out for them, eFM removes variables and empowers our pilots to access information, improving overall efficiency,” said Hood.

“It will also promote collaboration and facilitate conversation between the pilot and dispatcher, taking the gate agent out of the equation.”

Through eFM, pilots can review flight information, accept releases, and convey fitness for duty.

Delta’s paperless gates initiative went live last November for all Delta-branded flights in an important step toward a more sustainable future.

Endeavor flight attendants made the transition to paperless departure for flight and customer information, and with the launch of eFM, Endeavor now joins all other Delta-branded carriers in the full transition from paper to electronic.

“This is a milestone achievement for Endeavor, and the Delta team as a whole,” said Hood.

Per FAA requirements, printers will remain at each gate through summer 2024, with the option remaining for flight attendants and pilots to request printed documents as needed.

Modifying Our Fleet 36 Endeavor CRJ-900s are receiving interior modifications to enhance customer experience

When Endeavor Air announced it would officially retire its CRJ-200 aircraft in 2023, there were rumblings of uncertainty at the CWA base, since the team primarily worked on Endeavor’s -200 fleet.

“I do believe that it put us a little on edge here, as it was our bread and butter,” said Jordan Roloff, an Avionics Technician based at CWA.

Engineering, works with his team of engineers, Ted Tessier and Tom Miller, to ensure the project follows the robust schedule. Heinz's team also collaborates with the STC manufacturers on designs. Paul Hohman and Joanne Ahlers, Endeavor’s Vendor Management team, work with vendors to retrieve the necessary parts for the modification.

Soon after, Endeavor transitioned CWA’s specialty into a new project – modifying the interior of 36 Endeavor CRJ-900s.

Overall, this modification project will uplift the experience for Endeavor customers and smooth out the number of mechanical issues surrounding these aircraft.

“Endeavor has been awesome with giving us these interior modifications," said Jordan. "We're excited to continue to prove that we can be a productive and capable base."

“These seats are a lot more reliable,” Heinz Ahlers said. “I now have a manufacturer I can contact to order materials to fix issues, instead of having to wait months for one part.”

Other modifications are inside the lavatories – installing a new sink, a shroud around the toilet and upgrading the space lighting to LEDs. Lights throughout the galley, floor and cabin are now upgraded to enhance the priority of safety and experience for our customers. The carpet is completely renovated, seat power is installed in all rows, and emergency exit rows now include a green running man sign.

This interior modification is an all-hands-on-deck project, which requires employees both on the frontlines at CWA and at Endeavor headquarters in Minneapolis, Minn. Endeavor works with four different manufacturers and requires supplemental type certificates (STC) to meet the aircraft standards throughout the process.

There is a team of five HDQ employees who have dedicated their time and efforts to the new designs inside the aircraft. Heinz Ahlers, Sr. Manager of

Lee Pastika, CWA Base Manager, has played a key role in ensuring his team is successfully transitioning into this new work, and confirming everyone is on the same page throughout the process.

“This project means so much to the base because we're able to showcase all our talent. I always say when one door closes, another one opens for us,” Lee said. “We're always looking for more things to do and if we can succeed our goals with this project, it not only opens CWA up for more work, but all maintenance bases.”

“Our leaders are always willing to listen to our concern, no matter how big or small,” John said. “They are willing to get the equipment and tooling that we need to make our job more efficient and safer.”

Endeavor has completed three modifications thus far, with plans on completing the next 33 aircraft by June 2024.

In addition to this modification project, CWA is also performing scheduled maintenance on overnight aircraft and through-flight maintenance as required. 

Four Endeavor Air couples share their stories of how they met, what it is like working together, and their passion for aviation.

DAVE & LORI

Dave - Supervisor, MTX, MSP Lori - Inflight Learning Facilitator, HDQ As the saying goes, "The third time's the charm."

When Dave and Lori Nelson met at work nearly three decades ago, their love story began after not one, but three separate "meet-cutes," and aviation continues to weave a thread through their lives.

How did you first meet?

DAVE: I got hired in September of ‘96. One of the first jobs I was sent out to do was to take a look at a seat cushion that was loose on the Dash-8. When I got on board the airplane, Lori was actually [the flight attendant] on that flight, and she showed me which seat was bad. That’s the first time I met her. It was a brief encounter.

Would you say it was love at first sight?

DAVE: A connection, absolutely. As corny as it may sound, I think so. I met her and never asked Lori out the first time, but I was shy. Then, in the spring of ‘97, I went to take a look at some log pages, and she happened to be on board another Dash-8 airplane cleaning it. One of the ramp agents had asked if it was okay if they shut the passenger door briefly to de-ice the plane. It took about 10 to 15 minutes to spray down the plane. Lori and I got to talking, and we totally lost track of time. It was over an hour later we stopped talking. The ice truck was long gone, but we hit it off at that point. She had mentioned to me that that was her last trip, and she was heading to the training department right after that. That was the last time I saw her for a bit.

When did you two finally make it on a date?

LORI: We didn’t see each other for a little while and then I became a full-time instructor. I was working with a class in the hangar, and Dave happened to be in the hangar working. We reconnected that night.

DAVE: She asked me out for coffee, and I told her, “Well, I would love to, but tonight, I am filthy with jet fuel and dirt all over me. Can we do this another night?” She said, “I don’t mind at all.” I knew she was the one for me. 

Marian Nassar first applied to work at Endeavor at the encouragement of her then-fiance's siblings. Three years later, her husband joined the Endeavor team as well. A family affair, with 3 siblings and 1 wife working at Endeavor’s headquarters in Minneapolis, Minn., it's clear that it's been a perfect match.

How did you first meet?

MARIAN: We met at our church in a young adult group. We hit it off there, but we’ve known of each other for our entire life, really. We never really talked before then, though.

ALEX: We would pass by each other. We never knew each other’s names, but we knew each other existed.

MARIAN: Our extended families were really close, like our grandparents and our aunts, but never our parents or us.

So, it was kind of weird at first, since my family knows him, his family knew me.

How did your aviation journey begin?

MARIAN: Alex’s sister and brother were already working at Endeavor. I was a nursing student in school, but it was during COVID, and I wanted to take a pause on my schooling. I wasn’t sure what to do.

“Oh my gosh, come work at Endeavor!” I didn’t know if that was for me since I was a nursing student who knew a lot about the medical field but nothing about working for an airline. They continued to insist, but I was still nervous.

I thought, I'll see where it goes. I’ve been hooked ever since and have been here for almost 3 years. If Alex didn’t say anything and encourage me, I don’t think I would’ve gone for it.

Was that your first encounter with aviation?

MARIAN: It's funny looking back because things are tied to aviation. When we were first dating, Alex took me to the plane spotting park, and I wasn’t really sure about that.

Nowadays, whenever we’re driving and see a plane, I’ll take a guess at what it is, and of course, I’m wrong. But he’ll guess where it’s going and what it is, and he’s right.

How did Alex propose?

ALEX: I set up a fake event at the top of the InterContinental hotel at MSP. MARIAN: I dressed up and everything, and I couldn’t believe he lied straight to my face! But I fell for it. He said we were going to an event, and as we got to the top of the hotel, I didn’t hear people chatting, because normally if doors are open at an event, you can hear conversation. We walked in, and there was a table in the corner. It overlooked the runway, so in all of our proposal pictures, you can see the runway in the background. 

Alex and I were engaged at the time, and his siblings said,

JENNIFER & JASON Jennifer - Program Mgr. 401(k), HDQ Jason - Avionics Technician, TYS Jennifer Williams found her Prince Charming from a yearbook. From there, the two have sometimes intertwined their work and personal lives, occasionally working at the same companies, but always doing different roles. After a couple moves, and a couple of kids, they now work together at Endeavor, and they are still excited to tell their story.

How did you two first meet?

JENNIFER: We met at a high school football game through my cousin. I was at her house looking through some of her yearbooks. It was almost like old school “swiping right or left,” but I saw this guy in there, and I said I wanted to meet him. Jason happened to be one of her friends, and my cousin said she would introduce us.

JENNIFER: We both really like the family feel and the culture that Endeavor has. It’s something that smaller companies have and focus on, so Endeavor has been really great to work for.

Is the topic of work off limits at home?

JENNIFER: I love getting his take on the frontline employee experience. I also had no idea what frontline employees’ families go through until he started working this shift. He used to work 24-hour shifts as a firefighter, paramedic, so I was used to that, but this has been a whole new world for me. It has shown me a lot, and it certainly gave me a new perspective. I always love to hear what’s going on and what Jason is working on. 

A few weeks go by, and I get a call from my cousin saying Jason is at the football game. I drove the 30 miles, met him, and that was it. I picked him out of the yearbook.

JASON: She was playing hard to get and acted like she wasn’t interested at all.

JENNIFER: Well, he was too cute! I didn’t want him to let him be too full of himself or anything. And now we’ve been together for 34 years.

Jason, you joined Endeavor in 2021, but Jennifer has been part of the airline for 15 years. What made you want to join the team?

JASON: With her working here for so many years, I knew the company well and would sometimes travel with her when she went to the bases. I had met people, and I had been

WESLEY & MEAGAN Wesley - Supervisor, Crew Scheduling, HDQ Meagan - Supervisor, Crew Scheduling, HDQ For Wesley and Meagan Flores, a project Wesley was working on in Michigan brought these two back together.

After reuniting, deciding to date and tying the knot five years ago, the pair is inseparable, and you can even find them working together on the bridge in the OCC. How did you first meet?

WESLEY: We met in college in 2008, and we were friends for a long time before we even dated. I ended up moving back home to Michigan, where my parents live, and she went to South Korea to teach English for two years. When she moved back, we met back up.

MEAGAN: We both didn’t have interest in each other before I moved back to the states. We had both changed and grown, so that’s when we started to develop feelings.

What is it like working so closely with each other?

WESLEY: When an AM shift that matched Meagan’s came open, I switched and matched her shift. On the AM shift, you start at 4:15 am, so that means we’re leaving home at 3:30 am. On the first day, we get in the car, and I started talking and having a conversation. She goes, “This is my

time to get ready for the day and listen to my podcast.”

We drove quietly to work then. It was just the funniest thing.

MEAGAN: To work that early in the morning, you need to have your normal routine! In this job, we work together on the same team every day. We like to help each other and share information that we’ve learned. It feels comfortable when you have someone you can ask any stupid question to or have someone to lean on. I know not everyone thinks it’s a good idea to work together, but it’s been really good for us.

How do you make working together more fun?

MEAGAN: We’ll answer each other with a joke out loud or in chats, but I think the funniest part is interacting with each other with everyone else in a group chat. If Wes is saying something that’s trying to get a rise out of everyone, then I can do an eye rolling emoji or a ‘digging a hole’ emoji.

WESLEY: It creates a really fun few minutes to break up the day, and everyone just starts laughing.

MEAGAN: We never want anyone to feel like it’s awkward because we’re married. We always try to include people in our discussions or our jokes, and it makes it fun when you do that. People can feel free to joke with us, too. They’ll say something about him to me, or they’ll joke about me with him, and it’s not like either of us are untouchable. 
