Having recently celebrated the 10th anniversary of Endeavor Therapeutic Horsemanship, we reflect on a decade of incredible milestones Our 20-acre campus provides specialized Equine-Assisted Services for four key populations: children and adults with a range of special needs, at-risk youth and adults, veterans and active-duty military, and individuals affected by incarceration In 2023 alone, we welcomed more than 800 participants Most recently, we completed an indoor riding arena, ensuring year-round access to our transformative programs

In 2024, we established Endeavor’s leadership committee: Endeavor Ringleaders. This dedicated group provides vital support to sustain our PATH International and EAGALA-certified programs, as well as our team of therapeutic riding instructors, equine specialists, educators, military clinical counselors, and social workers Their contributions also help maintain our facilities and ensure the highest level of care for our incredible, one-of-a-kind herd
ENDEAVORPROGRAMS
THERAPEUTICHORSEMANSHIP
Therapeutic Horsemanship is a comprehensive program that combines horseback riding and horse care to support individuals with a range of social, emotional, physical, and cognitive abilities Open to both children and adults, the program fosters learning and confidence through mounted and unmounted activities in a welcoming and engaging environment. Endeavor tailors each experience to accommodate participants of all skill levels, focusing on individualized goals that promote continuous growth and personal development.
EQUINEASSISTEDLEARNINGINEDUCATION
Endeavor’s Equine-Assisted Learning in Education (EAL) program partners with 10 local public and private schools to serve students with special needs and those attending schools committed to accessible education, regardless of income or circumstance By integrating classroom learning themes into the dynamic, sensory-rich environment of the farm, students engage in hands-on experiences that enhance their education. The program has seen a 100% re-enrollment rate from the 2022-2023 school year, with schools traveling from the Bedford community, Fairfield County, and Harlem to participate

VETERANSANDACTIVE-DUTYMILITARYPROGRAM
Endeavor partners with nonprofits, academic institutions, and government agencies to provide free therapeutic and recreational equine activities for veterans, active-duty military personnel, and their families. Recognizing the unique challenges faced by female veterans, Endeavor remains deeply committed to their support, offering specialized programming designed to meet their specific needs With extensive experience working with military populations and a deep understanding of military culture, the Endeavor team serves veterans who are often navigating acute life challenges and managing one or more diagnoses.
EQUINEPRISONPROGRAM
Endeavor partners with Bedford Hills and Taconic Correctional Facilities, offering weekly visits to provide ground horsemanship programming for incarcerated women Our program serves cohorts of eight participants, delivering a 10-week curriculum focused on vocational skills in the equine industry. Upon request, an Endeavor social worker joins the program to provide additional mental health support. Through these initiatives, we equip participants with valuable skills, foster confidence, and help build a network for future employment opportunities
Endeavor partners with local residential and day facilities to provide recreational equine assisted services to the areas most vulnerable children and adults due to a variety of factors including addiction, poverty, racism, mental health diagnosis, disabilities and histories of trauma. Activities include ground horsemanship, riding lessons, and/or vocational volunteers dependent on the goals of each partnering group Our staff will work with you to create a curriculum tailored to meet the needs of each individual participant or group Staff at our partnering agencies report measurable and marked progress in emotion management, ability to self-soothe, positive response to change, and increased levels of engagement.

THESE PROGRAMS UTILIZE ETHOS (ENDEAVOR THERAPEUTIC HORSEMANSHIP OUTCOMES SCALE)
Endeavor believes that having quantitative analysis of progress is essential in running a successful impactful program and created ETHOS through a partnership with Regeneron Instructors are trained for inter-rated reliability and scoring methodology and complete ETHOS at the beginning and end of each quarter This analysis enables Endeavor staff to continue to optimize program curriculum, activities, and equine partners.
VETERANANDACTIVEDUTY MILITARYPROGRAM
THESE PROGRAMS UTILIZE THE ENDEAVOR ADAPTATION OF THE OHIO STATE PANAS (POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE AFFECT SCALE)
Non-Clinical as well as Clinical studies have found PANAS to be a valid and reliable assessment tool for gauging positive and negative effect. (Merz et al.,2013). We have found it the most useful tool for the diagnoses we see in the Veteran/Military community PANAS is a scale that consists of words that describe feelings and emotions This tool is utilized with our Veteran Weekend Retreats and our weekly Veteran Program.

The incarcerated individuals complete a pre and post PANAS survey during their 10-week session Of the individuals surveyed, the increase in the positive feelings of isolation (less isolated), interest (more interested), loneliness (less lonely), and safety (more safe) was drastic.

CHARLIEROSEMEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIPFUND
We are honored to receive donations for the Charlie Rose Memorial Scholarship Fund, established in memory of Charlie, a dedicated volunteer who passed away in 2017. This fund provides need-based, critical support for participants facing financial hardships, ensuring that cost is never a barrier to accessing our programs. To date, the scholarship has benefited over 300 veterans, more than 50 refugee children, 20 incarcerated women, over 100 children with special needs, supported lowincome school field trips, and assisted more than 100 youth in residential facilities.

The Endeavor Herd is the heart of our therapeutic programming, providing connection, healing, and growth for those we serve. These incredible horses offer a unique, intuitive presence that fosters emotional well-being, confidence, and personal breakthroughs. This year, we’re thrilled to welcome two new additions to the herd Bear and Rain who will bring their own special energy and support to our program Through their gentle guidance, participants build trust, resilience, and a deeper understanding of themselves, making the herd an irreplaceable part of our mission
“Goliath” Joined Endeavor in 2016. Previous job as a Pony Hunter.
“Abby” Joined Endeavor in 2019. Previous job as a family horse.
“Priscilla” Joined Endeavor in 2023. Previous jobs: barrel racer, lesson pony.
“Clifford” Joined Endeavor in 2023. Previous job as lesson horse.
“Stryker” Joined Endeavor in 2017. Previous job as a Children's
“Rain” Joined Endeavor in 2024. Previous job as a lesson pony.
“Maple” Joined Endeavor in 2017. Previous job as an extreme trail competition horse.
“Liza” Joined Endeavor in 2022. Previous job as a pony jumper.
“Bear” Joined Endeavor in 2025. Previous job as a trail and family horse.
“Rupert” Joined Endeavor in 2022. Previous job as a Low Adult Jumper.
“Spud” Joined Endeavor in 2017. Previous job as a lesson pony from Alabama.
“Chili” Joined Endeavor in 2021. Previous job as a trail and family horse.
