Clara-Grace Atkins (Front of House Crew) is an eighth grader at Swanson Middle School and is happy to be a part of this production. Clara-Grace hopes you enjoy the show!
Elizabeth Bell (Jeanne deClisson) is a freshman at The Madeira School in McLean, VA. She is excited to be performing in her second Encore production. In her spare time Elizabeth enjoys baking, reading, and sewing.
Logan Bond (Rot Nose Pete), half English and half American, has been singing since he could utter sounds. Since the age of two he has woken every morning humming or singing. Logan has taken theater and acting classes at the Little Theater of Alexandria for several years. He was previously cast as the narrator in the play “ Whatever Happened to Happily Ever After” and was cast as a pirate in a play at The Theater Festival in Avignon, France 2022. Logan is 11 years old and attends Emmanuel Lutheran school in Alexandria. He is a Cub Scout Webelos, sings choir at St. Paul’s, and plays lacrosse.
Dylan Cestaro (Two Toe Sam) is a ninth grader at The Madeira School. This is her fifth play with Encore. When she is not acting, Dylan enjoys spending time with friends, playing basketball and working towards her Black Belt. She hopes you enjoy the show!
Kate Davis (Grace O’Malley) is exhilarated to be in her first Encore production. She is in the eighth grade and an alumnus of the Arlington Theatrical Teens program. When not singing sea shanties, she is reading adventure fantasy books and making silly skits for her friends.
Riziki Dunbar (Tavern Patron, Girl Pirate) is a fourth grader at Drew Elementary. She is happy to be a part of the show!
Nyla Elder (Backstage Crew) is thrilled to be on crew for Treasure Island. Nyla has been doing Encore shows since 5th grade and has most recently done crew for Comedia Cinderella and Riley and the Lost Leprechaun. She is a sophomore at
Washington Liberty and enjoys competitive dance, pie-making, Model UN and hanging out with her friends. She is so excited you came and she hopes you enjoy Treasure Island!
Abigail Fred (Black Dog) is a tenth grader at Meridian High School. She is happy to be a part of the show!

Henry Gould (Backstage Crew) is a ninth grader at HB Woodlawn. This is his sixth Encore production. He enjoys reading, skiing, and video games. He hopes that you enjoy the show!
Eleanor Gould (Jacob Grills) is a fifth grader at Long Branch Elementary School. This is her first Encore production. She enjoys reading, telling jokes, and traveling. She wishes to thank her family and friends for all of their support.

Annika Haney (Cheese Thief Ben) is thrilled to be in her fourth show with Encore Stage and Studio! She is in seventh grade at Thomas Jefferson Middle School, and absolutely loves theater! Some previous shows that she has been in are Annie Jr, Voyager's Compass, A Winter Star, Last Weekend the Musical with her school, and many more! While not in the spotlight, she sings with Arlington Children's Chorus and loves art! She hopes you enjoy the show!
Katie Hearne (Backstage Crew) is a seventh grader at St. Ann Catholic School. It’s her first time doing crew and she is excited to take part in her sixth Encore production. While not at Encore, you will find her singing, baking, reading, or playing with her dog. She hopes you enjoy the show!
Reagan Holland (Christina Anne Skyette/Father) is a sophomore at Langley High School. She has been acting since she was eight and has performed in many roles, including Puck (A Midsummer Night’s Dream), Amy March (Little Women), Gollum (The Hobbit), Riley O’Brien (Riley O'Brien and the Lost Leprechaun), and Grace (An nie Jr.). She is so excited to be performing in her eighteenth stage production and her sixth show with Encore! Her hobbies include playing cello, writing, improving her theater tech skills, dancing, and reading (especially reading!) She hopes you enjoy the show!
Cornelia Holland (Patron #5, Girl Pirate) is a fourth grader at Churchill Road Elementary School. She has been performing since first grade and has played many roles including, Sapling (Dinosaurs Before Dark), Reindeer (Santa Claus the Musical), Badger (Children of Eden), Evil Flying Monkey (The Wizard of Oz), and most recently Children’s Choir in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat! She is super excited to be performing in her sixth show and her second with Encore. When she’s not at the theater she enjoys playing make believe, playing outside, reading, and writing. She hopes you enjoy the show!
Lucy Horner (Build Crew) has worked on front of house crew during Encore's 2021/2022 season and was Student House Manager on Cinderella. She enjoys reading, drawing and Monty Python's Holy Grail. She hopes to someday audition for an Encore production of Holy Grail. She can be heard saying, "Tis merely a flesh wound" and "The show must go on."
Abigail Houle (Parrot) is a freshman at Washington Liberty High School. She enjoys singing and writing. This is her fourth Encore production, having played Lily in Annie Jr and Cinderella in Enchanted Bookshop Christmas. Outside of acting, she enjoys singing, writing, and reading. Abigail is so excited to be in this production of Treasure Island!
Kira Kettler (Long John Silver) is a freshman at Washington Liberty. This is her sixth show on cast with Encore, most recently appearing in Commedia Cinderella and Enchanted Bookshop Christmas last season. She has also done props for Riley O’Brien and sound for Annie Jr. She hopes you enjoy the show!
Colin Lee (Squire Trelwaney) is a seventh grader at Swanson Middle School. He is excited to return to Encore with Treasure Island. Other shows include Anne of Green Gables (Gilbert), CSI: Christmas Scene Investigators (Duncan), Voyager's Compass (Seven), and more. He also loves to swim, play basketball, sing, and spend time with friends.
Lucy McBride (Billy Bones/Girl Pirate) is so excited to perform for you in Treasure Island! Previous shows include Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Annie Jr., Oliver Jr. and many other shows with her school. She hopes no one had to hang off the side of a ship like a barnacle for three weeks to get here and that you enjoy the show!
Lauren McGroarty (Front of House Crew) is an eighth grader at Kenmore Middle School. This is her third Encore production where she was a member as the front of house crew. She was also part of the back stage crew for two Kenmore Middle School productions. Outside of theater, she enjoys figure skating, soccer, tennis, and art. She hopes you enjoy the show!
Alexis Meade (Anne Dieulevent, Tavern Wench) is a seventh grader at Kenmore Middle School, where she was in the cast of Frozen for the sixth grade production. While a veteran of Encore summer camps, she is super excited to be in her first production with Encore. She hopes you enjoy the show.
Beatrice Misch (Front of House Crew) is a seventh grader at Kenmore Middle School and is happy to be returning to Encore this season as a Front of House Crew member. This is her fifth Encore production, having played the Scary Carey Fairy in Riley O'Brien and the Lost Leprechaun and Mezzetino in Commedia Cinderella. When she isn't performing or on crew, she enjoys time with friends and family, writing, drawing, reading, playing soccer, and walking her dogs.
Maggie Moore (Front of House Crew) is an eighth grader at Kenmore Middle School. Maggie enjoys sports like archery, and I love doing theater, especially with my friends.
Henry Phoel (Stinky Frank) is in seventh grade at Williamsburg Middle School. He is excited to be in his third Encore production, previously playing Jim Young in Enchanted Bookshop Christmas. Outside of acting, Henry enjoys diving, squash, ultimate frisbee, and lying on the floor with his dog, Beezus.
Aidan Pritchard (Backstage Crew) is excited to be a part of his sixth Encore pro duction. His second time on crew, he has enjoyed discovering the action behind the scenes. He hopes you enjoy the show.
Jack Ploetz (Backstage Crew) is a senior at Arlington Tech High School. He is excited to be working on his 28th show with Encore. Jack's previous roles at Encore include stage manager for Frozen Jr and The Hobbit, technical director for A Winter Star and Voyager’s Compass, and crew for many other shows. He has also held the role of technical director in Wakefield High School’s productions. Outside of theatre he is a part of the Arlington Tech robotics team, and enjoys rock climbing, biking, and skiing. He hopes you enjoy the show!
Loic Razanakoto (Green Goose, Scurvy Jack Compton) is a Freshman at Washington-Liberty and is proud to be in his second Encore production. His last performance for Encore was Annie Jr. Some of his hobbies include singing, playing piano, baking and spending time with his friends and family. He hopes you enjoy the show!
Sam Regardie (Backstage Crew) is a senior at Washington Latin PCS. He is very excited to assistant tech direct his first show and work on his 14th Encore show. Sam also enjoys acting and working backstage at Encore, as well as biking and running.
Liam Riedelbach-Armer (Dr. Livesey) is an eighth grader at Gunston Middle School. This is his first Encore production. He was a member of the cast in his school production of Pippin last year. Outside of acting, he enjoys archery, skiing, biking, and music.
Maddy Sadler (Jemma) is a ninth grader at The Potomac School. She is thrilled to be back at Encore for her eighth production and fifth on cast! Some highlights include The Little Mermaid, Jr. (Ursula) and An Enchanted Bookshop Christmas (Dorothy). She hopes you enjoy the show!
Sofia Spugnardi (Front of House Crew) is an eighth grader at Williamsburg Middle School. This is her first official Encore production, and she is very excited! She has also done an Encore Stage Door camp, as well as a school play. Outside of theater, she likes birdwatching and writing stories for her school newspaper.
Alexis Stern (Backstage Crew) is an eighth grader at Kenmore Middle School. This is her third Encore production, having participated in set-build for Enchanted Bookshop Christmas. Outside of shop hours, she enjoys playing mobile games, watching anime, drawing, baking, and hanging out with her friends.
Spencer Tilock (Mr. Arrow) is thrilled to be on stage in his 4th Encore production! Spencer is in 6th grade at Glasgow Middle School. He has a passion for theatre, but also enjoys playing the saxophone, reading great books, and spending time with family. Spencer recently appeared in the world premiere of Encore’s Riley O’Brian and the Lost Leprechaun. He was also in two Encore Cares productions, written by his oldest brother, Xander, where he played Seven in Voyager’s Com pass, and Cash in Winter Star. He hopes you enjoy Treasure Island as much as he enjoyed working on it!
Alex Valencic (Front of House Crew) is 14 years old and a ninth grader at McLean High School. He has been attending summer camps through Encore since he was five years old. He has enjoyed acting in Stage Door productions for the past three summers. This is Alex’s third production having played Edmund in Narnia, worked Backstage Crew for Cinderella and now Front of House for the first time. He is thrilled to continue be a part of Encore and its wonderful community. Alex also loves to play tennis, and dive for the Alexandria Dive Team.

Harper Warmerdam (Elizabeth Kiligrew, Tavern Wench) is a seventh grader at The Brit ish International School of Washington. She is excited to be performing in her first Encore production. As well as acting, Harper loves gymnastics, sewing and art. She hopes that you enjoy the show!
India Warmerdam (Backstage Crew) is a sophomore at The British International School of Washington. Treasure Island is her first Encore production, and she has really enjoyed being part of the Crew. When not painting sets, India loves gymnastics, dance and field hockey. She hopes that you enjoy the show!

Aly Wilson (Squid-Lips Tom) is excited to be in her second Encore show. Aly is ten years old and is a fifth grader at Ashlawn Elementary School. In her free time, Aly enjoys drawing, reading, and playing with her friends. Her first show was Riley O'Brein and the Lost Leprechaun. She hopes you enjoy the show.
Gabby Wilson (Blind Pew, Annie Bonny) is delighted to be part of her 8th Encore produc tion. After doing a lot of crew she is glad to be back on stage. Gabby is 13 years old and attends Kenmore Middle school. In her free time she enjoys reading , drawing, hanging out with her friends and being outside. She hopes you enjoy the show!
Ayden River Yacobucci (Front of House Crew) is a senior at Langston High School. This is their fifth Encore show, their second on tech. In their free time, they enjoy stage combat, drawing and baking for their fellow crewtons. They're so glad to be back at Encore after two and half years.
Encore Stage & Studio offers special Scout experience packages in addition to seeing a production. Scouts participate in a workshop specially designed to meet selected badge and adventure requirements while exploring theater.

Matthew Heap (Playwright, Composer) is currently the associate Professor of Composi tion and Theory at West Virginia University. He is an internationally performed composer whose music has been featured in several American and English cities and on WQED and WCLV radio. Matthew is also a member of Alia Musica Pittsburgh, an ensemble dedi cated to the performance of new concert music from Pittsburgh composers.
Susan A Keady (Director, Artistic Director Emeritus), a native Washingtonian, directs productions, has taught classes, and continues to design, develop, and implement Encore programs and productions. She worked at George Washington University for 16 years where she was an adjunct professor guest lecturer in the Theatre Department. A member of the Screen Actors Guild, Susan works on local film projects. She has worked on the AMC Drama TURN: George Washington's Spies, Showtime's Homeland, and HBO's VEEP. Recent films include Jackie and The Jason Bourne series. Susan collaborated and directed over 100 episodes of a multi-award winning radio show, which garnered her a Peabody for her meritorious contribution as director. In addition to other awards, she collected the American Association of University Professor Elizabeth Campbell award for her work with Encore.
Alisa Kingsbury (Assistant Director) is so excited to work with Encore for the first time directing for Stage Door! Originally from southern California, Alisa has choreographed and directed youth productions in Los Angeles and in Washington, DC, and is thrilled to utilize her 7 years of creative experience to continue Encore’s mission of theatre for kids, by kids this year.
Jim Clancy (Fight Choreographer) has been an active volunteer in the tech shop and a former Encore Board of Directors for many years. Jim has taught stage combat and co-directed many Encore productions. Outside of Encore, Jim is a drama teacher in the area. He is honored to work with this talented cast, and hopes that they fool you into thinking the fi ghts are real and their combat opponents are in actual danger!
Kristen Jepperson (Technical Director, Set Design & Build) is a graduate of the California Institute of the Arts, with a BFA in Harp Performance. Since graduation she has toured nationally as a member of the New Christy Minstrels and with Ragtime, the Musical (Emma Goldman). Theatrical credits include: Daisy, The Adding
Machine, Studio Theater; Reno, Anything Goes, Olney Theater; Agnes Gooch, Mame, Toby’s of Columbia; Reverend Mother Mary Regina, Nunsense, Toby’s Baltimore. Having gotten her start in children's theatre as a child, working with Encore “on the other side of the table” makes a nice circle.
Gary Hauptman (Lighting Director) has been Encore’s resident lighting designer since 2012. His first experiences with lighting were shortly after high school, running spots for community ice shows and for an AC Spark Plug sales convention. Design credits include dance companies, rock bands, cabarets, fashion shows, and magicians. And locally, for Teatro de la Luna, Unexpected Stage, Pinky Swear Productions, The Arlington Players, Port City Players, Requiebros, and Hexagon. Gary contends that the most important preparation for working with Encore’s talented young performers and technicians was his time as a counselor at Michigan’s Camp Tamarack.
Debra Leonard (Costume Designer & Build, Make-up Designer) is designing her 21st season with Encore Stage & Studio. She has designed costumes for many area theatres and film companies, with over 100 productions to her credit. Debra has also designed for American University, Prince George’s Community College, and Allentown College in PA. Additionally, she works as a Special Education teacher with Prince George’s County. Debra is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Kalamazoo College, with her graduate degree from American University.
Kevin A. Curry (Sound Consultant) is currently retired from The Boeing Company. Over the last 40+ years, Kevin has worked on over 350 productions for both professional and community theaters. In that time, he has had 10 Alliance of Community Theater nominations for Best Lighting, Set Design, or Special Effects. He has won four times, most recently in 2003 for Springfield Community Theatre’s production of Godspell, for which he also earned a nomination for Best Lighting from WATCH.
Riley Dennis (Stage Manager) This is his second show stage managing with Encore and is excited to be taking on this responsibility again after years of seeing many wonderful stage managers and having such a fun time stage managing Annie Jr at the end of last season. He hopes you have a wonderful treasure hunt.
Rachel Grooms (Student House Manager) is happy to be a part of this production. She hopes you enjoy the show!
Sara Strehle Duke (Executive Director) has led Northern Virginia’s largest, awardwinning children’s theatre since 2010. She was recognized as one of Leadership Center for Excellence's 40 Under 40 in 2015. Previously, she worked for the Arden Theatre Company in Philadelphia and Round House Theatre in Bethesda. She is a Board member for Embracing Arlington Arts, a member of Leadership Arlington, Class of 2014, and a dedicated volunteer with several youth serving organizations. She is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the College of William & Mary.
Madaline Langston (Programs Director) has been with Encore Stage & Studio’s It’s Elementary Program for over a decade and is currently Education Programs Director. Madaline is a graduate of the National Conservatory of Dramatic Arts Advance Theatre program in Washington DC. She began developing her improvisation and classical skills performing at the Maryland Renaissance Festival. Madaline later joined the Shakespeare Theatre Company under the Artistic Direction of Michael Kahn, followed by two National tours with the John F. Kennedy Center’s programs for children. As a member of the Screen Actors Guild, American Federation Television Radio Artists, and Actors Equity, Madaline has worked on films, industrials, regional and national commercials.
Aileen Pangan Christian (Director of Marketing and Design) is delighted to be in her eleventh deason with Encore. She taught dance at Downing-Gross Cultural Arts Center in Newport News, VA, and was involved in marketing for BalletNova Center for Dance. Aileen graduated from Leadership Arlington’s Young Professional Program and is an alum of Christopher Newport University. She has worked on films including Step Up 2, directed by Jon M. Chu, director of Crazy Rich Asians. Aileen and her husband welcomed their daughter in August 2020 and their son in January 2022.
Maureen Bouda (Business Manager) joined the Encore team in 2020. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and is a Certified Public Accountant with extensive public accounting experience including several nonprofit clients. After her time in public accounting, she worked in London, UK for a large American multinational company focusing on financial statement consolidation, Sarbanes-Oxley internal controls and process improvements. At Encore, Maureen works closely with our Board of Directors andFinance Committee to ensure accurate financial records and organizational forecasting. Maureen has a strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and supports the organization on finance related matters.
Kelley O’Dell (Development Officer) joined Encore in late 2019 to coordinate individual, corporate, and foundation giving after prior work in nonprofit organizations and government agencies. She holds a Master of Public Administration degree with a concentration in nonprofit management from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University.
Liv Wilson (Programs Coordinator) is a dramaturg, playwright, librettist, and theatremaker based out of Washington, D.C. Their work has been seen at The Eugene O'Neill Theatre Center, Boise State University, The University of Texas at El Paso, The College of William & Mary and at The Premiere Theatre Playwriting Competition. Liv is the recipient of the Howard Scammon Prize for Drama and the Martin Jurow Theatre Arts Award for artistic excellence. She has worked as the dramaturg for Ford's Theatre, Cadence Theatre Company's Sitelines BLM series, and several independent works developed by artists across the country, including two new musicals at The Tank. Liv received their Bachelor's degree in History from The College of William and Mary in 2021 and is a recent National Theatre Institute alum.
Cleo Potter they/she (Production Coordinator) is excited to be joining the Encore Stage and Studio team, as the new Production Coordinator. Cleo grew up in the Alexandria and Arlington area and attended the College of Wooster, Ohio, majoring in Theatre and Dance. They specialized in stage management and lighting. They are excited to back in Arlington and getting involved with theatre in their hometown. Outside of theatre Cleo enjoys taking their dog, Lil, on walks around Arlington’s parks and trails.
Matthew Cibakis (Arts Apprentice) a 2019 magna cum laude and Highlander Honors College graduate of Radford University, with a Bachelor of Science in Theatre. As an actor, he has performed in a number of productions including The Wild Party at Greenbelt Arts Center, Jack and Jill and the Wishing Well at Stage coach Theater Co. and The Importance of Being Earnest at his alma mater, just to name a few. He is more than excited to be working as an Apprentice at Encore!
Brielle Perry (Arts Apprentice) graduated from William & Mary, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in English language and literature and a minor in creative writing. She led William & Mary’s Writing Resources Center as a Student Administrator and interned at an independent bookshop in Bath, England while completing a semester abroad. She also facilitated improvisational theatre workshops for elementary and secondary-aged students at the York County School of the Arts, mentored residents of the Merrimac Juvenile Detention Center by developing meaningful activities and poetry programming, and served as a summer camp counselor at Camp Highroad Christian Adventure Camp. She has traveled to over fifteen countries and has a passion for spreading the joy and power of language and art with others everywhere.
Amanda Willis (Arts Apprentice) is a recent Alumni of James Madison University where she received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Theatre Performance and Theatre Education. She is a Teaching Artist and Actress who leads with empathy, collaboration, team building, and compassion. Being born and raised just outside of Boston, Amanda is beyond excited to begin her journey as an artist in the DC theatre community. Amanda believes that theatre has the capacity to impact the lives of many and create real world change, and it all starts with the youth.
