Enhancing Community Where Everyone Belongs!
That is the mission of Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Arts, and it makes Encinitas a strong community. Our community shares a deep appreciation and love for the outdoors. This activity guide reflects that shared culture, with many programs centered around outdoor experiences. Keep the guide handy throughout the fall to discover classes, activities, special events, and opportunities to connect with your community.
This year, the Encinitas City Council has tasked the Parks and Recreation Commission with emphasizing skateboarding, surfing, and beach volleyball in our work plan. These activities are not just sports; they are integral to our local identity. Their significance is reflected in our local arts and music scenes, and we offer programs and events that help you participate, appreciate their cultural impact, and celebrate our outdoor lifestyle.
Our appreciation for the outdoors also includes enjoying and learning about the native habitats found in our parks and protected open spaces. You can immerse yourself in this environment by hiking and riding on trails through our open spaces. Take it a step further by volunteering to help maintain these areas. Start your journey by calling our office at 760-633-2740.
Have a wonderful fall season!

RIDE SAFE – DRIVE SAFE VIDEO
As a cyclist, all around the city, you’ll find different types of roadways to travel. You’re encouraged to use the type of route that is most comfortable for your experience, your speed, and your abilities. As a driver, you may be concerned about how to interact with bicycles on the roadway. In this video, we give cyclists and drivers tips to ride and drive in the right places, and ways you can communicate to comfortably share the road and to be safe. Please share this comprehensive video with your family, friends and neighbors as a start to help us all ride safe, and drive safe, together! Find the video at www.EncinitasCA.Gov/Ebikes
