The Value of Your Explore Encinitas Activity Guide

The Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts team is proud to offer this guide as a vital resource for everyone in the community . It’s more than a brochure—it’s a tool that transforms parks, programs, and special events into real community value. This guide serves as our marketing, educational, and engagement instrument, helping us fulfill our mission to enhance community where everyone belongs. This spring edition also looks ahead to summer, featuring day camps and activities to help you plan for school breaks, amazing indoor and outdoor facilities for gatherings, a wide variety of programs for everyday learning, activity, and fun. We hope you keep this guide hand throughout the spring to discover classes and programs for all ages, explore upcoming community events, and find new ways to enjoy our parks, beaches, trails, and cultural spaces. The City’s Spring Egg Hunt is on April 4 and the City’s Arbor Day celebration is on April 18. Be part of the community by coming to these activities, and many more which follow this spring and summer.

Walk-in registration is accepted during business hours at the Encinitas Community & Senior Center, City Hall at the Parks, Recreation & Cultural Arts Department, and Pacific View Arts Center.

The cost of each course in this guide is listed in the details with the course description. Please account for any applicable fees listed below. Credit Card Transaction fees will be charged a 3.7% convenience fee.

Youth & Adult

SPRING 2026

Refer someone and you'll both receive 20% off when you enroll in the same Spring season program held at the Pacific View Arts Center. To activate the discount, both participants must email PRCA@encinitasca.gov to confirm the referral. Open to all age groups, limited to one discount per person, per class, and applies retroactively.

Activities are subject to change. A full refund will be given if the City cancels the activity.

Refund requests submitted in writing to prca@encinitasca.gov at least seven (7) calendar days before the first program meeting date may be granted minus a $20 cancellation fee, $10 for senior programs. ActiveNet debit/credit card convenience fees are non-refundable.

Do you love animals? Then you will love our Itty Bitty Zookeepers camp. Join us for an unforgettable camp experience at Seaside Day Camp with two off-site field trips per week! In this creative camp, children will start by learning bead stringing, crimping, and creative pattern-making techniques. Junior Lifeguards (ages 9-17)

Be part of a more than 25-year Encinitas tradition led by the Encinitas Marine Safety Division Lifeguards. By combining education with recreation, participants develop an understanding of the ocean environment, learn essential lifesaving skills, and enjoy activities such as swimming, boogie boarding, and more. Little Groms Surf Camps AM (ages 5-8)

Little Groms is dedicated to our next generation of water kids that are ready to learn about the ocean and its constantly changing conditions so they can be safe and have the most fun. We have daily lessons in ocean safety, introduction to surfing, boogie boarding, body surfing and swimming in the ocean. We teach them about rip currents, tides, swells, stingrays, and other factors that can impact a day at the beach. We allow all kids to progress at their own pace in this camp, not pushing them past their comfort level. It is a weeklong process teaching kids about the changing daily conditions and how to navigate them. More info at www.TheLittleGroms.com.

Big Groms Surf Camps AM (ages 9-16)

This surf camp teaches proper surfing fundamentals and techniques with an emphasis on skill development and ocean safety. Surf camp is ideal for BEGINNER and INTERMEDIATE level participants that want to become more efficient surfers. Experienced staff will work with campers individually and in small groups to create a fun and productive environment. Surfboards are provided.

Calling all Huntrix and Saja Boys fans! Experience the thrill of singing and dancing in this K Pop Demon Hunters themed sing and dance camp! Vocal music skills will be explored as well as dance routines and popular songs from the hit movie musical K Pop Demon Hunters. Daily themed take home crafts also included such as design and make your own ramen cups, microphones, lights and more! Perform a special "concert" for family and friends on the last day of camp!

Casting all boys and girls! Join us for all the fun while learning stage presence and improving confidence! Students will participate in fun drama games, get cast parts, learn acting lines and scenes, and a finale dance routine to perform for families the last day of camp from popular musical theater pieces. Child and Babysitter Safety (ages 11-17)

Child and Babysitter Safety class is a community education program for youth ages 11-17, that covers child safety and basic care for infants and children. Topics covered include: sitter safety, infant and child feeding, diapering procedures, recognizing an emergency, child and infant CPR, and basic first aid for children. Participants receive a digital download of the booklet and a Babysitter certificate from the American Health & Safety Institute and an Infant/Child CPR certificate of participation upon completion. Indoor Volleyball

This adult coed volleyball program is for anyone 18 and up who wants to play without forming a team, having a team captain, or requiring a roster! In other words, this is a more structured open gym where you can come and play in a competitive environment. There will be 2 courts available based on level of play. Skill level of participants should be high-intermediate to advanced. Players will be assigned to one of four teams each evening. Ideal participants will have strong skills in passing, setting, and attacking in 6-person role-based play (setter, middle hitter/blocker, outside hitter, etc.). Team assignments will change weekly based on availability of players and their skills and positional strengths. This gameplay is intended to be competitive, but also sportsmanlike, friendly, and social. Skill assessment will take place during the first meeting to ensure that all players have the requisite skills and experience to ensure competitive and safe play. The Oakcrest Cafe offers daily nutritious lunches in a welcoming environment. Reservations are required and can be made up until 12pm the business day before you would like a meal by calling (760)943-2258. The suggested meal contribution is $5 per meal for adults 60+ and a mandatory $8 fee per meal for those under 60. Please make checks payable to the City of Encinitas.

Check-in time for lunch is 11:00-11:30am. Lunch is served at 11:40am. The Oakcrest Cafe is supported by the City of Encinitas and general meal donations.
