Notice of Retirement of Capital Credits Please take notice on the 28th day of January, 2020, Columbus Electric Cooperative, Inc., declared the intent to retire capital credits remaining for the year 1980 as well as the capital credits earned for the years 1989 and 1990. Checks were mailed to all members of record for said years on February 28, 2020. Any person or entity who has not received payment and believes they were a member of Columbus Electric Cooperative, Inc., at any time in 1980, 1989 or 1990 and entitled to payment for their capital credits should contact Susanna Morris, in writing at P.O. Box 631, Deming, NM 88031; in person at 900 North Gold Avenue, Deming, NM; or by phone at 575-546-8838.

Office Closing Columbus Electric will be closed on Friday, April 10, in observance of Good Friday. Regular office hours will resume on Monday, April 13.

Scam Alert A co-op member notified us that they received a call from someone posing as an electric co-op employee. The caller told them that immediate payment was needed to avoid disconnection of utility services. Please be aware, these scam artists can be very convincing. Never give your credit card number or other personal information over the phone without verifying the call. If you receive a call that asks you to pay using a third-party system, or at all appears suspicious, please hang up and contact us at 800-950-2667 or 575-546-8838. Do not call the number the caller gives you. By calling us directly, you can talk to a service representative who will confirm your bill and let you know of any problems with your account. Please report all incidents to your local law enforcement agency.
