Je Hlobik lives in Newtown Square, PA and is a self-taught and selfrepresenting artist. Her roots are from Slovakia. She loves using vivid colors and HEAVY texture in her paintings and she is addicted to her palette knife. Je attempts to create movement in her works with the use of repeated texturing and carving. The artist is also currently a bit partial to using metallic oils and acrylics in her paintings - the reflective nature of the paints change dependent on the light source used from day to evening and create what she thinks is more visual interest‌ Je's favorite materials are a blank canvas, thick mediums, and her palette knife.
