Vern Taylor is a multi-unit franchise owner of Budget Blinds of West Essex, where he has been serving greater Essex County since 2018. Budget Blinds is the largest provider of window treatment in North America, with over 1,400 locations. After more than two decades in Corporate Marketing with world-renowned companies such as Unilever, M&M/Mars, Pepsi, the NBA, Yahoo!, and BET, Vern made the bold transition into small business ownership, bringing with him a wealth of leadership, strategic, and operational expertise.
A graduate of Penn State University (MBA, Marketing) and Western Michigan University (BA, Advertising and General Business), Vern has leveraged his corporate foundation to chart a path of business ownership that reflects both innovation and service. As a member of the Franchise Advisory Council, he has been a trusted voice to volunteer as a liaison between the Franchisor and local owners.
Beyond his business achievements, Vern embodies the spirit of empowerment and community uplift as a 35-year member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. He is committed to building a legacy of success by sharing knowledge, creating opportunities for others, and serving as a role model for the next generation of entrepreneurs. Most importantly, Vern could not succeed as a business owner without the support of his family - wife Madalena and their two daughters Jewelia and Jazmine. In the spirit of Harriet Tubman, he strives to be a “conductor” in his field, guiding others toward greater freedom, growth, and generational wealth.
