11th annual Emporia Gazette readers choice awards The votes have been tabulated and the results are in. The winners of The Gazette’s eleventh annual Readers Choice awards have been selected according to what Gazette readers have chosen as their favorites. The Readers Choice results acknowledge specific people and businesses — as chosen by the community — who are great at what they do, and show it. The results are based solely on the opinions of customers, and the survey reflects service they’ve received or experienced with the specific people or businesses. Readers voted for what they viewed as the “best” in three areas: Best Goods and Services, Best Shopping, & Best in the Business. The questionnaire, which featured over 70 categories ranging from Best Hamburger to Best Customer Service, was featured in The Gazette for five weeks before ballots were tallied. The votes, which were tallied by
The Gazette staff, are from Gazette readers in Lyon County as well as from Chase, Morris, Greenwood, Osage and Coffey counties. The winners for each listing received a certificate of recognition and can advertise themselves throughout the year as “Emporia Gazette Readers C h o i c e Wi n ners” in their specific category. The survey creates competition and incentives for businesses and residents to go beyond their expectations and become favorites in the hearts of many residents. It is used to get the community and surrounding areas involved in recognizing businesses, o rga n i z a t i o n s , events and people who make this area a better place to live, work and play.
