Nobody in their right mind simply decides to race one thousand miles. Nobody in their right mind simply decides that racing over some of the most beautiful and godforsaken landscape in the world is their cup of tea.

Nobody in their right mind feels the need to complete that one thousand mile route entirely alone. Nobody in their right mind does the Baja 1000. And simply put, that is why. Not because the Baja is easy. Not because the Baja is simple. But because the Baja is damn difficult. Because at the Baja, when death stares you in the eye, you stare right back. And you don’t flinch. The Baja isn’t a place to ask why. It isn’t a place where you question this sort of thing. The Baja 1000? That is where you go to find it.
