Star drawer heating elements They are parallelepiped-shaped components which house the electric heating elements, known as “star” heating elements. They are installed inside dryers, pre-furnaces and HSTs.

12

Direct-filament heating elements Used in Keraglass tempering furnaces

Panels They consist of a silica insulating panel with a dust-repellent coating, onto which the filament of the electric heating element is applied. The panel fastening systems have been designed and engineered to prevent any release of particles or dust inside the furnace. The same panel can also incorporate specialised fixings to support any piping for convection.

Armoured heating elements Electric heating elements with a protective metal sheath, designed to resist impact, wear and corrosion. Used in lamination furnaces and tempering pre-furnaces, including in exposed configurations.

ROPE The Keraglass rope is a technical component used in glass processing and tempering plants, designed to ensure resistance to high temperatures, operational reliability and durability. It is made from highly thermalresistant materials and, thanks to the threading manufacturing process, it features high mechanical resistance to shearing. The Keraglass rope is a reliable solution, features accurately checked thickness and geometry throughout its entire cross-section, and a wire threading method designed to ensure high mechanical performance.

Technical feature

The rope is made using a special threading process. Unlike ropes made from continuous or parallel strands, this technology ensures high cut resistance and greater mechanical stability. The wires feature no bonding agents, which prevents the release of residues during the tempering process and preserves the surface quality of the glass.

BLOWERS Keraglass blowers offer a reliable and efficient solution, designed to support the correct operation of systems and ensure perfect uniformity. Blowers feature three main advantages:

Protection against corrosion: The structure is cleaned using special acids and then coated through a cataphoresis process, both externally and internally. This process ensures a high level of corrosion resistance and prevents rust from forming over time, thereby maintaining the blower performance.

Aluminium terminal fixing system: The fastening system of the terminal has been designed on the outside of the blower. In this way, the inner part – where the air flows – features no fastening elements, which improves the uniformity of the flow.

Differentiated hole patterns for the terminals: Each aluminium terminal features a specific hole pattern, designed as part of a dedicated study. The different layout of the holes optimises the airflow on the whole surface of the glass, playing a key role in reducing iridescence (anisotropy) during the tempering process.

ROLLER HOUSING AND FELT PADS FOR INSULATION

Roller housing is designed to provide better thermal insulation. Felt pads are made from a compact, low thermal-conductive dustproof material, ensuring consistent insulation and minimising heat loss during processing.

20

WHEELS FOR GLASS POSITIONING

Components made from advanced, non-marking materials, designed to prevent any residue from being left on the glass during the heating phase. The technology used prevents the formation of stains or surface marks, ensuring a superior aesthetic quality of the finished product and reducing waste and rework.

21

Electrical components and control systems Certified electrical components, control systems and hardware, selected to ensure reliability and a long service life: SCR, switches, PCs, PLCs, monitors and various components.

22

Shafts, pulleys and drive belts Customised components based on the machine specifications and customer’s requirements.

STEEL CORE TOOTHED BELTS

HEAT-SEALING BELTS

Toothed belts with internal steel wire reinforcement, for high tensile strength and precise transmission. Used in Keraglass tempering furnaces.

Heat-sealing belts, designed for handling glass in the conveyor systems of Mappi and other brands tempering furnaces.

23

Standard air extractors A natural ventilation system installed on the roof, ideal for glassworks having no structural constraints or photovoltaic systems on the roof. It utilises the natural upward movement of warm air to ensure efficient air exchange, without the need for mechanical ventilation.

24

Electric extractor fans with inverters The ideal solution for glassworks where natural ventilation via the roof is not possible, for example due to the presence of photovoltaic systems. Fitted to the side walls of the building, they ensure effective air extraction thanks to mechanical ventilation based on a speed that can be adjusted via an inverter.

Direct current motors DC motors for applications requiring precise speed and torque control, used to move and drive system components.

Alternating current motors AC motors for driving the plant mechanical systems and components, designed to ensure reliability, continuous operation and efficiency.

25

Sensors, photocells and control components An integrated process control and monitoring system which, using photocells, encoders and a PLC, ensures glass correct positioning and handling, while scanners, thermal imaging cameras and pyrometers monitor thermal uniformity and the temperature at the outlet in real time, guaranteeing tempering process quality, repeatability and reliability.

26

Spare parts warehouse A system designed for the organised and efficient management of spare parts. Keraglass uses automated vertical storage systems for the storage and management of spare parts in a structured and controlled environment. The system optimises storage space and simplifies identification, picking and handling of components, facilitating faster and more efficient spare parts management operations.
