DESIGN INTENT
I am passionate about bringing people together through design and creating spaces that communicate beyond words Language and emotions are not always easy to share, but the built environment offers a universal way to connect through experience and feeling I love designing environments that shape how people feel and interact with one another. Each space should support its purpose, whether that means uplifting someone ’ s mood, encouraging focus, or creating opportunities for connection My goal is to create places that feel welcoming, intuitive, and meaningful to the people who are experiencing them
I also value growth and learning throughout the design process I approach each project with curiosity, positivity, and an open mind, and I enjoy learning from the perspectives of others I believe the best design comes from listening, collaboration, and clear communication. I strive to bring kindness, energy, and a supportive attitude to every team and project while continuing to grow both professionally and personally

BLENDING ART, DINING, & LUXURY RETAIL: AN
ADAPTIVE REUSE PROJECT
This project is my senior capstone, developed through the CURO Research Symposium at the University of Georgia. It explores the adaptive reuse of a 1940s industrial building in Athens, transforming it into a mixed-use destination that brings together art, dining, and luxury retail. The design focuses on creating an experience-driven environment where tactile engagement, local artists, and curated moments shape how people connect with the space. This project is currently in progress and continues to evolve through ongoing research, design development, and material exploration.
PROJECT OVERVIEW
This capstone project reimagines a University of Georgia property in downtown Athens as a mixed-use, experience-driven environment that blends graduate studios, dining, and luxury retail. The goal is to create a space that supports student work while opening the building to the public, transforming it into an active destination that connects campus life with the surrounding community. By integrating making, displaying, and purchasing into one cohesive system, the project positions the building as both an academic resource and a public facing experience.
DESIGN CONCEPT + CIRCULATION
The design blends art, dining, and luxury retail into an experience-driven environment that encourages exploration, interaction, and connection. The building is intentionally designed with multiple entry points, allowing visitors to enter through the café or the Athenaeum gallery, creating moments of discovery as users move through the space. This layered circulation strategy transforms the building into a destination rather than a single use space, aligning with research that multi-sensory, immersive environments create stronger emotional connections and increase time spent within retail spaces.

PROGRAM + PROJECT VIABILITY
This project reimagines the Broad Street Studios as a self-sustaining destination that combines dining, retail, gallery space, and graduate studios. The café serves as the primary draw, increasing foot traffic and creating opportunities for visitors to engage with student artwork and locally made products. Revenue generated through food and retail supports building operations while strengthening connections between the university, local artists, and the Athens community.
The custom cabinet system functions as a flexible display solution for student work. Interchangeable surfaces, integrated lighting, and locking casters allow each unit to adapt to changing exhibitions and retail needs. Handmade knobs and layered materials add warmth and tactility, reinforcing the project's emphasis on craftsmanship, interaction, and human-centered design.
