MULTIDISCIPLINARY PROBLEM SOLVING
Armoo is the project for my master thesis realized in the academic year 2021-2022, under the supervision of Els Du Bois (Product Development UA) .
Armoo consists of smart sensors and technology incorporated in new custom-made wardrobes. The sensors collect data and statistics about the use and wearing pattern of clothes. An application gives the user insight and creates awareness about wearing and combining clothes. This creates a connection between the physical and digital wardrobe. This solution contributes to extending the lifespan of clothing.

Wardrobe doors
Holder for shelves

Wardrobe doors equipped with RFID technology make it possible to register both the number of times and the day on which the garments go in and out the wardrobe. That registration creates a first insight into the wearing pattern of the user. This way, it becomes clear which garments are worn a lot and which not.

The second insight into the wearing pattern is created by the holders for shelves. The holders are equipped with weight sensors. The sensors measure the difference in weight on the shelves when a garment is added or removed. This makes it clear which shelves are rarely used.

Application
The application contains nine functions of which the input is generated by the technology present in the wardrobe doors and holders. Some important functions are: consulting the inventory, creating outfits, finding outfit inspiration, viewing the wear history, connecting with other users in the community and viewing the statistics in the profile.

How to install?

Now you can start using the wardrobe as you are used to.
