What Is Regenerative Agriculture?

Each time a farmer sows a seed, fertilizes their soil or waters their crops, there’s an opportunity to introduce a sustainable practice to their farm. Regenerative Farming Benefits Though it’s been a hot topic lately, regenerative farming has existed for generations. In the past, farmers tended their land using their intuition; they naturally gravitated towards methods that respected the earth. However, this practice fell out of favor with the arrival of the industrial revolution, which brought modernization to farms; unfortunately, it also brought environmental degradation. Now that we’ve seen these adverse effects, regenerative farming is back and it’s more important than ever.

How Éminence Organics' Forests for the Future™ Initiative Is Healing the Planet We have a profound love for nature. As such, we’re determined to do everything possible to make the world a greener place! Éminence Organics plants a tree for every product sold; we’ve planted over 24 million trees to date. However, we know that there are so many other ways we can help heal the earth. This is why we’ve championed a unique project to bring accessible water to Tanzania’s Singida region.

Where We’re Making a Difference: Singida, Tanzania Tanzania is known for Mount Kilimanjaro, the beaches of Zanzibar and the plains of the Serengeti. But amid the country’s vast natural beauty, farmers in the Singida region face a growing problem: a lack of water. Due to extreme drought, water access is severely limited, affecting crop quality and hindering farmers’ ability to earn a living wage.

To combat this, Éminence Organics and Forests for the Future™ funded an award-winning project through our partnership with the non-profit organization Trees for the Future. This project oversees the installation of large-scale water catchment systems in the region. These much-needed systems collect and store rainwater, helping to: Enable 1,700 farmers to water crops year-round, increasing yield and incomes for their families.

Empower farmers to install their own water catchment systems.

Provide tools to support ongoing training for farmers on water catchment use and maintenance.

Decrease the cost of transporting water from remote sources to farms.
