VISION

Our worldwide mission is to develop people, design structures, and construct facilities which serve communities and the Church— facilities like:

DESIGNING A WORLD OF HOPE

rural hospitals, bridges, safe homes, radio towers, university campuses, primary schools, water systems, ministry centres, dormitories, children’s homes, community centres, churches, and more...

EMI

has grown from a humble group of engineers wanting to invest in mission into a worldwide organisation.

Over 200 architects, engineers, and construction managers now work at EMI offices in 11 countries. We are influencing the shape of missions around the world and making impact in every corner of the globe.

In the midst of rapid growth, we strive to keep Christ the center of our ministry.

We continue to use our technical skills to advance the Gospel.

We look to God for wisdom as we work to bring hope through design and the built environment. And we thank you for investing in EMI.

VISION FOR THE FUTURE

Listening to and learning from those we’ve served in the past is a priority for EMI.

We want to improve our design and construction services and see the Kingdom of God flourish as a result.

VISION FOR SERVING

We’ve increased this monitoring and evaluation (M&E) focus to include personal visits to past client ministries in four regions of Africa. And we will expand these M&E activities to Asia and Latin America.

We’ve also started intentional business fundamentals training.

Our object is for each office to have a sustainable financial model that responds to local needs and opportunities for the technical services we can offer.

This is all part of our commitment to being a long-term witness for Jesus in the strategic locations where we work.

The EMI-designed SIL campus in Thies, Senegal was inaugurated recently. The facility includes office, meeting, and living spaces as well as a library and recording studio.

It has been exciting to see the staff of EMI grow over the last few years. Behind these people is a multitude of others who give to enable our staff to pursue ministry at EMI.

VISION FOR GROWTH

Many give to individuals through a missionary support model. Others give to the EMI Fund, helping us create pathways for those without access to missionary support to become part of EMI.

In either case, we are very grateful for your faithful support and prayers.

And we are excited about following God’s call to grow EMI into new areas—South America, Central Asia, East Asia, the Pacific region, and more.

We believe there are engineers, architects, and construction managers in every nation who will share our excitement to use our skills for the gospel!

VISION FOR GROWING GLOBALLY

We launched EMI Cambodia in 2017 because we recognized a unique opportunity to develop young professionals in a country desperately needing opportunities for growth.

Now the team has grown to nearly 30 staff. It’s time to put down roots in the capital city, Phnom Penh, which is the hub of the design and construction industry.

When we commit to being in a place long-term, we have seen God open new pathways for growth and influence.

As we build a permanent home for EMI in Cambodia, our vision is to play our part in the restoration of the nation.
