S I R E N Sirens are enchantresses of the sea, representing the lusts of the flesh and the insatiable desire for knowledge. Their beauty has been said to reflect the wondrous treasures and power of the sea itself. These seductive temptresses lure unwitting sailers to their destruction by the sweetness of their song. They are all consuming, leaving just “heaps of corpses rotting away, rags of skin shriveling on their bones.” Homer, The Odyssey.

I have been captivated by the legend of the siren and the message portrayed is one that always seems to be a theme in my designs and inspirations. For there are few elements to a human being more powerful then lust and temptation. Sirens have proved my muse through their confidence and sensuality, but much more importantly their intelligence and independence.

This collection celebrates the power of women and their sexuality, challenging them to feel free to be dangerously luxurious, unable for anyone to resist their temptation.

R O A M Roam was inspired by the nomadic people of Mongolia, who for 3,000 years have adopted a pastoral way of life moving in the search of best pastures and campsites. Today, approximately half of Mongolia’s population is still roaming the vast plains.

To survive a nomadic lifestyle you must develop strength and resilience especially in the harsh nature of Mongolia. However beyond that I intend my collection to appeal to the modern nomads and their lifestyles, which are characterized by travel, and exploration of all things that make life authentic, meaningful, and exciting.

Nomadic life thrives in summer and survives in winter, therefore I focused my designs on easily interchangeable layers allowing the wearer to adjust to changing temperatures. It is common for the Mongolian nomads to use of furs, lamb shearling, and leather in their garments, consequently those luxurious materials were central to the collection. I derived further inspiration from the land, animals, traditional clothing, and shelters of the Mongolian people.

Chromat is an Architectural Lingerie and Swimwear Brand Founded by Becca McCaren.

Chromat focuses on structural experiments for the human body. McCaren’s degree in architecture reflects design details from scaffolding, city maps, wearable exoskeletons and the intricacies of undergarments.

Chromat swimwear, lingerie and signature architectural cages are all made in New York City.

The ‘x’ Bikini top and Bottoms are part of the SS14: MATHLETES Collection, inspired by competitive mathematics, team uniforms, sports jerseys and the athleticism and intellectual mastery of NASA Astronauts.
