The redevelopment of the historic Trappey Cannery in Lafayette leverages adaptive reuse, thoughtful landscape design, and community input to create an iconic sense of place, while successfully integrating complex programmatic needs. The re-imagined district introduces 775,000 SF of multifamily residential, 170,700 SF of hospitality, 133,400 SF of commercial office space, 150,900 SF of retail/dining, a 21,500 SF market, and parking for some 1,760 vehicles. The human-scaled urban fabric and circulation encourage interaction and provide experiential moments of surprise and delight that draw people through the district. A variety of multi-scaler open spaces engage the surrounding neighborhoods and create a functional 18-hour-a-day destination that appeals to a broad range of users. My contributions: design assitance; digital site models; all plans, diagrams, metrics, and renderings; & client & design team collaboration.

The Desert Pearl Inn is an eco-resort located at the entrance of Zion National Park in Springdale, Utah. Spanning several acres and across the Virgin River, the project draws from environmental and geological studies to focus development near the street and preserve land eastward of the river. The design offers a variety of accommodations and venues as well as ecological education opportunities for all ages. My contributions: assisted with design, all computer modeling (including canyon studies), ecological/geologic site studies, other graphics, and package assembly.

VIEWSTOTHE landuse study below

While conducting site research, we discovered the land once supported an orchard prior to 1993 (see first page Google Earth maps). It is unknown why the orchard disappeared but the new masterplan resurrects it as a main organizational device and local amenity.
