Featured Chaplains Anne Marie A. Rowse, BS, MBA, LNA, CMC Chaplain, Spirtual Care Services Emerson Hospital

Anne Marie Rowse, a Chaplain with Emerson’s Spiritual Care Services has worked in the health care industry for over 35 years. Her work has taken her to nursing homes and assisted living facilities and in the role of a certified care manager.

Prior to joining Emerson Hospital last September, she worked at Lowell General and Leominster Hospital as a chaplain. Anne Marie is grateful to minister within her community to patients, their loved ones and staff on all floors including NAKA. Anne Marie lives in Harvard, MA with her husband Steve and they have three grown daughters.

Featured Chaplains Rev. Sarah Hathaway Director of Spiritual Life Newbury Court Rev. Sarah Hathaway serves as Chaplain and Director of Spiritual Life at Newbury Court.

Her ministry there began in August 2016 and is a unique and beautiful tapestry of traditional “parish� ministry and health-care chaplaincy, wherein she preaches, leads worship, officiates special services and funerals, facilitates opportunities for education and spiritual wellness, makes pastoral care visits, while also fulfilling the duties and responsibilities of health-care chaplains.

Sarah has been working as a chaplain since 2011 and was ordained in the Presbyterian Church (USA) in 2017. She attended and graduated with her Masters of Divinity from Harvard Divinity School (HDS) in 2011. In addition to chaplaincy at Newbury Court, she has also worked in hospice and hospital chaplaincy.

Sarah grew up in Southern California and attended the University of California, San Diego, graduating with a major in political science and a minor in creative writing. Before enrolling at HDS, she spent two years teaching middle school special education in New York City with Teach for America.

Sarah is married to Rev. Tom Hathaway, the pastor of Hillside Community Church in Medford, Massachusetts. They live in Shirley with their adorable and spoiled dog Orca (a five year-old terrier mix).
