Praise for JCA Camp 9-1-1

Praise for one of our EMT students from the manager of St. Joe's Jamie, My staff wanted me to write and send a special Kudos to Kristin, the EMT we had last weekend. She was a tremendous help when we had a very sick cardiac patient. Staff were having difficulty finding a vein for an IV, although Kristin could not start the IV for us she was able to locate a vein. Her past experience helped in anticipating the staff's needs and she was able to get equipment and supplies ready for them. She was assisting staff all evening, cleaning rooms and asking where she could help. it was a busy weekend and staff said it was like having an extra pair of hands all weekend.

Special thank you for letting us have her for a weekend.

Thanks for MTS driver Richard Martinez On Friday, 9/22 we had a patient who was getting picked up via HVA being brought to a SAR post discharge. While Richard Martinez was picking up our patient, the patient commented that she could not leave without seeing her husband, who was concurrently a patient as well. Richard was so compassionate and kind to our patient. He said they were in no rush, and that they absolutely could go up to 9 to see her husband before they left.

We know that the transporters get delayed for many reasons, mostly because paperwork isn't completely ready when they come or a patient needs to get dressed, use the restroom, etc. My staff also know that the transporters are on a time schedule, so when Richard didn't hesitate to help this patient, we all felt he went above and beyond. It meant the world to the patient to see her husband before leaving and we appreciate Richard going the extra mile.

2017 Cardiac Arrest Saves Cardiac Arrest Saves from June - September 2017 that resulted in discharge from the hospital with good to moderate neurological status.

EHP reports this data to the Cardiac Arrest Registry to Enhance Survival (CARES) - a national organization working to measure performance and identify how to improve cardiac arrest survival rates.
