RICHARDON
INNOVATION IS OUR PASSION
Richardon was founded by its owner, Günter Richardon in 1974. The company’s initial areas of business were repairs and renovations of gear cutting machines of all makes, particularly the modernization of old gear hobbing machines. Soon, it became obvious that the mechanical construction of these machines imposed major limitations to their possible modernization. In 1997, Mr. Richardon decided to design and build a completely new machine. From the very beginning, the Richardon manufacturing company has focused on providing maximum flexibility to meet each customer’s unique needs. Following direct dialogue with the customer - unique, customized manufacturing solutions are created which satisfy the highest quality requirements, particularly in regards to capacity and accuracy. Once the machine has been developed, software for the machine based on the practical requirements of the consumer is then developed in-house and installed. Richardon has been part of the EMAG Group since May 2017 and as EMAG Richardon it plays a role in the development of multitechnological manufacturing solutions. As a specialist in the manufacture of gear cutting systems with large modulus sizes using gear hobbing and hob peeling, Richardon has significantly extended the range of technologies within the EMAG Group.

THE BASIS FOR HIGH-PERFORMANCE GEAR CUTTING
Main modules A heavy, high-quality cast iron machine base with thick ribs provides a reduction in vibration and an ability to remain stable in all temperatures. An oil tank is also integrated in the machine base.
Machine benches Since 2000, Richardon has used torque motors which have zero wear, backlash and maintenance on its workpiece benches as direct drives with a torque of up to 11,400 Nm. Machines also feature maintenance-free YRT roller bearings with lifetime lubrication and increased accuracy, as well as positioning monitoring using a direct, high-resolution measuring system.
Guides Richardon machines feature hardened, ground V slide guides. To create the perfect form-ďŹ tting connection, geometry and damping, these slides are molded directly onto the guides. With their generous dimensions, this guarantees an extremely long service life.
Milling spindles Backlash-free friction gear drive with hardened, precision-ground gear wheels. High drive ratings of up to 52 kW or 5600 Nm.
User-friendly User-focused operating software tested in practical conditions. The workpiece and tool data are entered into a dialogue box that includes support graphics. As a standard, this software includes a plausibility test, diagnostic software and more. Richardon supplies the most extensive software package even for basic manufacturing systems.
