A microcosm is defined as a community or other unity that is an epitome of a larger unity. Microcosms are all the ‘small worlds’ that surround us, each world being an ecosystem of their own, and contributing to a bigger picture. There are three different types of natural materials that are explored through this editorial, those being seaweed, wood and moss. These three natural complexities work perfectly with the colour palette, all working harmoniously with each other and within the food and interior styling. The future of the planet is uncertain and un-promised if not for science. There is no future if it’s not green. Motifs such as preservation, the science of cells and power of ecosystems are explored to showcase the complexities of microcosms. Ecosystems rely on all the parts they are made up of, all just as important as one another for a functioning and practical system.
