Ely i Magazine Reflecting the richness of Ely life
The Magazine About Us The Elyi Magazine is an independently owned, full colour, A5 magazine serving the Ely area. Owner, Bridget Hickish lives in the city and is active within the community. She knows it well and is committed to doing her part to help Ely maintain its individual character and culture, through the community pages and independent business features.
Keep it Local The Elyi actively promotes a ‘shop local’ ethos and is committed to helping local businesses, individuals, charities and community groups by publicising and celebrating their achievements in the magazine.

The magazine has helped to promote many new initiatives in the city with articles and events listings, supporting the first Ely Hero Awards in 2017, the Happy cafe and extra Ely Markets. The magazine features large national charities right down to individual fundraising achievements of local Ely people. It is important to people and they know they can contribute at any time, and they do... in droves!
Business and Community in Partnership Bridget is passionate about the local community and runs the magazine as a service for the local population, funded by advertising. As an advertiser you can expect to benefit from that feel good factor. Readers know that the magazine exists because of you and your support.
The power of door to door delivery! The magazine is hand delivered door to door in Ely, Chettisham, Queen Adelaide & Prickwillow. Time and time again we hear how local people really appreciate this as a service and view the magazine as a valuable local resource. Advertisers are seen as supporters of charity and community content, building goodwill into your business advertising.
The best of both worlds - Free to pick up To widen the reach of the magazine we also distribute to pickup points in surrounding villages. This includes shops, garden centres, churches, industrial estates, waiting rooms and community centres. Because we know our area so well, we are able to carefully target the best spots so no magazine is wasted. You won’t see our magazine lying around at the end of the month.
Online In addition to the 10,000 copy print run, we publish online and promote the magazine through our website, Facebook and Twitter. Readers can subscribe for free online and, most importantly, click directly to your website or email address from the page. This is a great tool for you too and we encourage you to share and use the online issue in your own online chatter.

We've got Ely covered! What our advertisers say... “Noble Cars chose to use Elyi Magazine over a year ago, to promote our taxi services. Since then, we have received a considerable amount of business through this fantastic magazine, which is delivered to every house in Ely and some houses in the surrounding areas. Madeleine and Bridget are very helpful and easy to work with and their rates are reasonable. We are about to sign up with them for a further year and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend their services.”
“The Elyi magazine is my first port of call for finding local products and services so when I started my pet services business, I thought it the perfect place to advertise! The team at the Elyi are a pleasure to work with as they take a ‘no pressure’ approach and were very helpful in discussing the best options for my advert and organising the artwork. I find the prices to be very cost effective. The advert I place in the Elyi every month has raised the profile of my business and regularly attracts new clients, so it’s worth it’s weight in gold! Keep up the great work Elyi.”
Noble Cars Executive Travel and Taxi Service. Lydia Waller at Animate Pet Services “I have only recently placed an advert in the Ely I Magazine, but I found the advertising team to be so helpful and pleasant and we worked together to get my advert just right and by the time we had completed the work it felt like I had made new friends! I look forward to hearing from the team each month with their continued support and enthusiasm.“ Elizabeth at Enchanted Flowers
“The Elyi Magazine did a great job of advertising our small local business. They listened carefully to our needs and provided us with a flexible, friendly and efficient service.“ Robert Barnes at Soham Carpets and Soft Furnishings Ltd.

The Elyi Magazine brings together local business and community information in one publication. Features include articles of local interest exploring local history, places and events as well as highlighting social activities and good causes in the area. The style is upbeat and celebratory.
Over 120 groups currently update the magazine with regular meetings and events. We have regular contributions from the current Mayor, current MP, Ely Cathedral, Ely Maltings, Babylon Gallery, Ely Library, Ely Museum and many local charities and community groups.
We love Ely and the magazine seeks to reflect the rich cultural and historic nature of the city and surrounding area. We have good community involvement with local people engaging online and also sending in information and articles of local interest.
We also offer promotional opportunities for local businesses with generous editorial options in our advertising packages. We have a ‘shop local’ ethos and actively seek to support small and local businesses with positive advertorial to supplement advertising.
What our community says... “Happy Cafe Ely and Talking FreELY are very grateful to Elyi for an excellent article published prior to the launch of both groups in July this year, and for ongoing support. Many people have made the comment that they read about us in Elyi, including local businesses, so the publicity has been very valuable to us. Thank you Bridget and Madeleine!” Kathryn Pearcey - Happy Cafe
A good read and keeps me up to date with what is happening in the area.
