Dear Reader

In my garden the daffodils are starting to come out and the crocuses (planted a little late last year) are pushing their way through. It is a welcome sight after a rather wet and changeable February.

Mirroring the awakening of nature is the awakening of the Ely music scene. On 9th March there are not one, not two, but three concerts to choose from! (see page 38) We have some very talented musicians in our community please do support them.

I was particularly cheered to see that the Reimagine Resource Centre, based at the Witchford recycling depot, has reopened. If you are into crafting it is heaven with a bounty of materials and items to use in projects that would otherwise be thrown away. Loads of stuff for Mothers' day cards and Easter bonnets!

all the best

Bridget

ELY ARTIST CELEBRATES

MILESTONE BIRTHDAY WITH EXHIBITION

Ted with his painting ‘Forget-Me –Nots’

Through this work, Ted hopes to demonstrate both his thoughts on dementia and the power of objects to aid memory.

Although it has been open since 2008, this year he has been invited to have an exhibition at the Norris Museum, St Ives, Cambs. Instead - to celebrate his 80th birthday.

Entitled ‘Every Object Paints a Picture – works by Ted Coney ‘, the show will run from 30th March (Easter Saturday) until 22nd June.

Ted has been making paintings about family life for over fifty years and increasingly uses objects in his work to tell the story. Indeed, as well as the paintings, some of the objects used in the pictures will also be on display.

For instance, a painting about his grandmother and her four sisters called ‘Forget – Me - Nots’ (pictured) will also show the suitcases and objects he collected and appear in the painting. A set of objects were gathered together on a single day in an East Yorkshire sea-side town that had connections with each sister.

During the course of the exhibition there will be talks and workshops, see the Norris Museum website for more details.

www.tedconeysfamilyportraits.co.uk

Ted Coney studied Painting and Printmaking at Bath Academy of Art in the 1960s and has been making works about family life for fifty years. He was Head of Art and Design at Hills Road Sixth Form College, Cambridge for over thirty years and Head of Art at St Andrews College, running the Foundation Course for twelve years.

Ted’s paintings, objects and installations have often appeared in mixed shows and open studios and a retrospective at the Babylon Gallery in Ely.

A Celebration of Bridal Gowns

Ely Cathedral to host an exhibition of over 40 fabulous bridal gowns highlighting the history and allure of the wedding dress.

This fabulous exhibition explores how wedding styles and materials have changed over the centuries and how their adaptations reveal as much about social history as fashion, whilst defining one of the most memorable days in countless lives.

Many of the dresses on display have a personal story to tell while others have featured in award winning movies such as the wedding outfit designed for Meryl Streep in Out of Africa and the wedding dress worn by Emily Blunt in The Young Victoria. Other exhibits include replicas of the gowns worn by royal brides as well as the original ‘fitting gown’ designed for Princess Margaret’s 1960 wedding.

Joss Palmer, Event Manager at Ely Cathedral says “It is fascinating to have bridal gowns from so many different eras all in one location. We have really enjoyed hearing all the stories and memories associated with many of these beautiful gowns which includes a gorgeous dress from the 1940s made by the bride herself from parachute silk due to war time rationing. Other exhibits worth highlighting is a beautifully understated, but stunning, wedding gown designed by Coco Chanel from the 1920s plus a few dresses which have featured in major film productions”.

In addition to the dresses, the exhibition will also feature a small selection of exquisitely embroidered bridal veils on loan from the collection at The Royal School of Needlework.

A Celebration of Bridal Gowns will be open daily in the Lady Chapel at Ely Cathedral and continues until 17th March 2024. Entry to the exhibition is included with your Cathedral visitor ticket. Please check the website for full details. https://www.elycathedral.org/events

We offer a range of services to suit all your needs, as happiness and comfort is integral to your care.

VOLUNTEER IN YOUR COMMUNITY!

A group of local organisations are teaming up to help entice East Cambs residents with a range of tempting ways they can give time to their local community.

Since the Covid pandemic, the numbers of people volunteering have seriously declined leaving organisations and charities without the necessary capacity in some cases to support the services required by the most vulnerable across our District.

A team of partner agencies including Voluntary Community Action East Cambridgeshire (VCAEC), Ely Cathedral, Support Cambridgeshire, a partnership between Cambridge Council for Voluntary Service and Hunts Forum., Soham Community Association, East Cambs District Council and Cambridgeshire County Council together with media partners, Spotted in Ely, are creating a campaign to raise awareness of the importance of volunteering.

The group are putting together an action plan and media campaign which covers the whole of the District and is interested to hear from charitable groups, parishes and organisations who are in need of volunteers, and/ or individuals experienced in volunteering who would like to help shape the campaign.

Angela Haylock, CEO of VCAEC, which is leading on the campaign, said “As the District’s Volunteer Centre, we know that organisations are struggling, as we are, to get volunteers. We are sure there are people out there who would enjoy investing some time to help others. We need to create opportunities which are flexible and fit into people’s lives, whether it is one hour a week or just volunteering at an event every now and then and make it easy for them to do this. We hope to create a positive image of volunteering locally where people are keen and proud to volunteer”.

If you are interested in becoming involved, please contact Angela Haylock, email: angela@vcaec.org.uk or tel: 01353 666166

ESTATE ADMINISTRATION

We understand that when someone close to you dies it can be a tough time. You have to deal with all the emotions and the administrative tasks that need to be sorted.

Those first few days seem to be filled with a neverending list of jobs to do and things to arrange, but where should you start?

Once you have registered the death then your attention will be focused on making the funeral arrangements.

You should check the deceased's Will to see if there were any funeral wishes contained in it. If the deceased was living alone then you’ll also want to ensure that their property is secure and their personal belongings safe. A good step to take early on is to contact their insurers to let them know the situation.

The next stage will be to deal with the administration of the estate. If there’s a Will then it should say who the deceased chose to deal with their affairs (the executor). If the deceased hadn’t made a Will, then there’s a strict set of rules that set out who should deal with matters.

It’s at this point that we think we can be most useful. We appreciate that some people find dealing with the administration a useful part of the grieving process, but we also know that others find it too much to deal with.

We offer tailored advice depending on your circumstances and needs. If you’d like us to help, call us on 01353 240079.

We put client experience at the heart of what we do. We give practical, straightforward and result-driven advice, delivered in a way to best suit individual client needs.

THE FIELD THEATRE GROUP is celebrating after receiving National Lottery funding to create a 2 year arts project (Bel Dam Arts)

The Field Theatre Group, based in Littleport, is celebrating after being awarded almost £20,000 in National Lottery funding to support an exciting range of creative projects with older residents.

Building on the success of their previous community projects, The Field is excited to be engaging with rural, semi-rural and coastal communities across the east of England.)

Participation in the Field’s projects is open to all, regardless of age, experience and background. This year marks the company’s 20-year anniversary. That’s 20 years of engagement with hundreds of residents of all ages, across Cambridgeshire and Norfolk! The Field’s previous projects have included community films, books, exhibitions, plays, festivals and street theatre events. The grant will enable The Field to offer a range of exciting arts activities to older residents in communities where access to the arts is limited.

Deborah Curtis, spokeswoman for the Field Theatre Group said "Engagement in social and creative activities has been proven to boost wellbeing in so many ways. Older people sometimes find it difficult to take part in community activities, due to lack of money or transport, and health problems. Our activities will be designed to overcome these obstacles by offering extra support to those who wish to take part. Now, thanks to National Lottery players we will be able to offer a range of free and subsided arts activities to older residents in our community.’

The new funding will enable Bel Dam Arts to offer a range of accessible courses in disciplines such as textile work, jewellery making, digital art and even performance skills.

ELY CITY W.I. SHOW THE LOVE FOR THIRD YEAR IN A ROW!

With a proud history of taking action to protect the environment, the WI is a founding member of The Climate Coalition; protecting what we love from Climate Change and lobbying politicians to prioritise tackling the issue.

Our members have knitted, drawn, sewn, crocheted, stuffed and created a plethora of green hearts as part of the ongoing awareness to tackle climate change. The showcase is in support of the

action to help mitigate climate change and can be found proudly displayed outside Sessions House on Lynn Road and inside Ely Library Foyer. Special thanks to members Sheila, Hilary, Diane and Anne for installing the displays.

President Sheila Willson said “the journey to Net Zero is one we take very seriously. Learning more about the Climate Crisis and knowing what we can do to help to protect our natural world and our children’s futures is a priority. Small things can really make a big difference and by creating the displays we hope to ignite conversations and action”.

More information on the campaign and how the WI is involved can be found here: www.thewi.org.uk/campaigns/ key-and-current-campaigns/climate-change

FREE TO FEED CAMPAIGN

Breastfeeding families receive a warm welcome.

All families should feel free to breastfeed in public, anytime, anywhere.

This is the vision of the Free to Feed campaign, a joint initiative between NHS Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Children and Young People’s Health Services and East Cambridgeshire District Council.

The campaign aims to encourage and normalise breastfeeding in public, help those who breastfeed and/or pump to feel relaxed, and increase their confidence when out and about.

This community initiative encourages local businesses and venues to sign up and pledge to be a Free to Feed location, where breastfeeding

mothers and their little ones are openly welcomed to visit, especially if they feel like they need a safe space when they are away from home.

Businesses in the East Cambridgeshire district signing up to become Free to Feed locations include pubs, cafes, restaurants and community venues. If you have a business, or know one who would like to join, more information is available on the website below.

Families can view the Nip Advisor interactive map on the council’s website to see which venues have signed up as Free to Feed locations, not just in East Cambridgeshire but also in South Cambs and Cambridge City. If you visit a venue because they are on the map, then why not mention that to the staff.

For more information and to sign up to pledge your business’ support, visit www.eastcambs.gov. uk/food-safety/free-feed

My Fantastic Opportunity!

Misty joined the cast of Campaign Amateur Theatre's production of Bugsy Malone which delighted audiences at the Maltings in November last year. Here is her account of what the experience was like through rehearsals to performance.

When I walked into the audition for Bugsy Malone, I never thought I'd be looking back six months later having just done the most memorable show of my life. It was only through this newsletter that I discovered this opportunity, and I'm so thankful that I decided to do it.

I was incredibly nervous about it, though, because it would mean driving an hour to Ely every week to meet with people I had never met, in an environment that was unfamiliar to me whilst everyone else seemed to know each other. It would mean I would have to give up a term at my regular acting school, and it would be the most professional show I had taken part in. I was also nervous about my hearing aids - the show involved a lot of custard pie throwing, and I was worried about them accidentally getting damaged.

However, the main thing that drew me to this production was that it was all-inclusive, particularly for the Deaf community. I'm 14 and I have a moderate bilateral hearing loss, and I'm keen to make a difference representing my community - this was an amazing place to start. The cast and crew accepted me and my condition with open arms, and from the day of the audition onwards, I never felt judged at all about my hearing aids.

The cast and all the production team were always excellent and always supportive of the needs of the Deaf community. The team focused on my hearing needs (and those of every other hearing impaired person there) from day one, where they blocked my scenes carefully to ensure my hearing aids weren't affected or damaged. The directors

always made sure that I could see and hear them properly, and gave me an opportunity to represent the Deaf community personally: I got the chance to perform some sign language on stage during one of the scenes. The show also included a brilliant final scene where the entire cast learned a bit of sign language, and we signed a section of the final song.

We also had subtitles on screens so that Deaf audience members could follow the show properly, and during the final performance we were lucky enough to have a BSL interpreter.

I absolutely adored every moment of this show, and it was wonderful that people could watch and be educated about the Deaf community. Theatre is a powerful thing, and it can inspire people and bring them together in ways that they never expected

Cambridgeshire Community Foundation launches a year of 20th anniversary celebrations with a dinner hosted by the Dean of Ely.

This year, Cambridgeshire Community Foundation is celebrating its 20th anniversary of promoting giving for the benefit of the local community and offering grants to local projects. Over the 20 years, the Foundation has given out over 10,000 grants, worth a total of over £32 million, to local non-profit organisations tackling a range of issues, from health and education to homelessness and the environment.

The calendar of 20th anniversary celebration events commenced with a dinner kindly hosted by the Foundation’s Vice-President, The Very Revd Mark Bonney DL, Dean of Ely, at the Bishop's House in Ely.

The dinner welcomed some of the supporters involved in the Foundation over the past 20 years, including the supporters of the anniversary year: The Cambridge Building Society, Rathbones, Cheffins and Arm.

The evening included speeches from the VicePresident, Ambassador, Catherine Stewart, and Head of Philanthropy, Michelle Longman. They reflected on the impact of the Foundation and the need for continued support, as the Foundation faces the largest funding deficit in its history, due to the record demand for local community support.

ST MARY'S COMMUNITY VOLUNTEER SERVICE

It's been a few months now since St Mary's church went full-time with their community volunteer service and the range of jobs on offer continues to expand. It may be something simple like changing a light bulb or helping you turn your mattress, or a bigger task such as support to assemble flat-pack furniture.

Whatever you need help with, it's worth contacting the church to see if they can assist. We spoke to volunteer Simon and asked him who the service is aimed at?

"It's for anyone in Ely who has a task they want to tackle, but just need an extra pair of hands to give them confidence. Sometimes it's an older person who can't reach a high cupboard they want to clear, or a younger person with

HIGHFIELD FRIENDS & PARENTS ASSOCIATION

HFPA have experienced the most amazing run up to Christmas 2023 and an un-believable start to 2024. And it’s all down to so many wonderful people and organisations. Our HFPA Chair and Team contribute enormous effort to fund raising activities and then so many of you generously donate. Over 50 prizes were given by businesses, trusts, clubs, individuals in and around Ely for our Mega Xmas Draw and this attracted £3000 worth of raffle ticket sales. HFPA joined the Rotary’s Santa Sleigh Collection, ran two Wreath Making evenings and with other unexpected donations from local clubs, anonymous donors and a large charity in January, this sum has now reached £12,000. This is 60% of our target for the refurbishment and fitting of the sensory room at the Highfield Academy.

poor mobility who would like me to drive them to the garden centre and support them with planting. It's great to see someone maintaining their independence and keeping active, with just a little extra support."

Vicar of St. Mary's Phil Marsh explained why the church is offering this free service: 'Ely is such a vibrant, caring community - everywhere you look you can see God at work - and we believe it's part of the church's role to share the love of Jesus with everyone across this wonderful city.'

You can read more about the sort of help that's on offer on St Mary's website under 'pastoral care'. To make an enquiry, just email: simon. fraser@stmarysely.org or call the church: 01353 659550

A heartfelt thank you to each and every one of you who are Improving the Lives of the Learners at Highfield Academy.

Plans for 2024 include more of the above and an Owl Display, Coffee Mornings, Collections, Car Boot Sale, an Ultra Marathon, just for a start. For more infor-mation please look on our Facebook Page. And finally we are looking for volunteers to join our friendly self motivated team, parents, friends, connections of the school but not essential, no fixed commitment, whatever you can accommodate, everyone is welcome. We are looking for a Treasurer and a future Chair Person. Continuity of the HFPA is essential to Highfield Academy.

Please get in touch with Steph our Chair who will be happy to chat through how things work and invite you along to a meeting so you can see and hear for yourself. email: hfpachair@highfield. cambs.sch.uk

Thank you in anticipation, Linda Neate on behalf of HFPA.

CITY OF ELY COUNCIL

ELY CEMETERY

Ely Cemetery, which opened in 1855, covers some thirteen acres and in a park-like setting is the last resting place of some 16,000 folk who have lived in our city before us. Here can be found the graves of bishops and deans, military men and women, important people from Victorian and twentieth century Ely and, of course, thousands of ordinary citizens who have lived and worked in the town down through the decades. All their burial places are recorded in the registers kept by the City Council but with the passing of time many are now unremembered and a majority lie in unmarked graves.

Recently the Council has begun work on a new sensory garden to help address this. It is taking shape on the High Barns edge of the cemetery where new pathways have been laid out, trees, shrubs and flowers planted, and park benches put in place. It is easily accessible, and the planting reflects the desire that it should be an inclusive place where, for example, all or some of the senses – sight, touch, smell can be used. It will be a quiet place for remembrance and contemplation but also a place full of colour, different scents and soft-to-the-touch leaves. The garden is to be known as the Rose Appleyard Garden.

Rose, who lived with her parents in Broad Street, was ten when she died of typhus in 1861 and she represents all the many children who were carried off by sickness in the first decades of the cemetery's existence. It is hoped that this new garden will be a focus for those who wish to call to mind family members or friends or any of those lives lived long ago and now all but forgotten.

Elsewhere in the Cemetery there is much to be discovered. Some areas have been set aside as 'wild' and in the summer months will be a riot of wildflowers attracting birds, butterflies and other visitors. In a far corner can be found the remains of Victorian gravestones too-hastily removed and broken up in a shocking example of civic

vandalism from many decades ago. Some of them can still be read and have added to our knowledge of the site.

Then there is the so-called 'cholera mound' – Ely's own urban myth. This was not the site of cholera pits as some have claimed but of a windmill which can be seen on old maps. The hillock is crowned by a lovely ash tree and there's a bench to sit on in complete tranquillity. The Cemetery Chapel is also worth a visit although that has to be arranged for a time when the estates team are on site to open it up.

This year, as usual, the Council will be organising walking tours of the Cemetery. These have proved to be very popular in the past both with people interested in local history in general or with an interest in their own family's story.

Details of these tours will soon be available from Oliver Cromwell House or the Council Office.

ESCAPE ROOM

NEW FOR SPRING!

TOMB OF THE TEMPLARS – What’s it all about ?

An ancient chamber that was used centuries ago by the Order of the Knights Templar and their successors has recently been discovered by curator, Ophelia Winters. She has been tasked by the Museum & Library of St George to locate and recover the long-lost holy relics and Templar treasures that lay hidden within the tomb. How ever, she is in danger. Her quest has attracted unwanted attention from an elusive secret society called the Guild of Shadows, that are planning to steal them for their own sinister ends. Ophelia has hired a mercenary, Nathan Spears to stall them and allow time for a trusted team of treasure hunters to enter the crypt and search for the artifacts.

Can you join her expedition and explore the chamber to find all the sacred relics and escape before the Guild of Shadows arrive? It is a race against time.

Here at Oliver Cromwell’s House, we pride ourselves on our unique escape room challenges. Come and experience not only a fun packed hour, but you’ll learn so much about the house, it’s origins as we include a free tour (time permitting)

ANGLESEY ABBEY

Snowdrop season has been another success, with visitors arriving from far and wide to see the beautiful carpets of snowdrops and aconites in the gardens at Anglesey Abbey. We’d like to say a special thank you to our volunteers who have helped us welcome visitors during such a busy time.

And now we turn our attention to daffodils and Easter! Returning after popular demand, we are holding daffodil tours every Sunday to Friday from 18 March – 21 April 2024. Join one of our knowledgeable garden guides to find out more about the exciting collection of daffodils. Did you know? There are over 40 varieties to spot across the estate! This tour is the perfect opportunity to learn some history, uncover the subtle differences between the daffodils and take in some of the other seasonal highlights along the way. There’s no need to book, just ask a member of the welcome team to join a tour on the day.

WICKEN FEN

We’ve enjoyed a busy February with lots of activities on for both children and adults, including the return of our popular Stick Trail. It’s been a good month for wildlife too – we’ve been seeing lots of cranes as well as hen harriers and barn owls hunting over Sedge Fen at dusk.

We celebrated World Wetlands Day on 2 February and one of our rangers, Ajay Tegala, took part in a podcast for BBC World Service, discussing the question: are wetlands our secret weapon for fighting climate change? If you’d like to find out more about the importance of our wetlands and the work we are doing to protect them, you can listen on BBC Sounds. Search for: The Climate Question.

Spring not only brings swathes of daffodils, but bright tulips and hyacinths as well. We’re excited to have another Easter adventure trail for children (and adults!) again this year. There’ll be games and activities on the trail, including some welly-wanging, dressing-up, a giant bird box, an egg and spoon race and plenty of photo opportunities too. Normal admission applies plus £3 per trail, which includes a chocolate egg, or a vegan ‘Free-From’ chocolate egg, both made using cocoa from Rainforest Alliance Certified farms. Children can also get creative with some craft activities and face painting over the bank holiday weekend. The trail will run from Friday 29 March to Sunday 14 April – we hope to see you there!

National Lottery Open Week is 9 – 17 March and we will be offering free entry for lottery players during this period. Our free February half-term workshops were made possible by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and with thanks to lottery players, so we’d like to show our appreciation by offering lottery players the chance to visit free of charge.

Boat trips along Wicken Lode will be starting up again (with a brand-new engine too!) and you can enjoy a bike ride on the wider reserve. The Cycle Hire will be open from 9 March 2024. We are excited about putting on our Easter Adventure Trail from 23 March – 14 April along the Boardwalk at Wicken Fen. Normal admission applies, plus £3 per trail which includes a chocolate egg, or a vegan ‘Free-From’ chocolate egg, both made using cocoa from Rainforest Alliance Certified farms. We look forward to welcoming you!

FACES OF ELY

I’d like to introduce our first Faces of Ely Volunteer, Hannah Firek. Hannah is the founder and chair of Soham Youth Takeover, a youth club that she established after becoming aware of a lack of activities for teenagers in the local area.

The group began with 5 attendees and when we spoke during her photoshoot, 36 people had attended the most recent meeting. The club organises activities that are both beneficial and often chosen by the young people themselves - a drug awareness talk from the police, a knife defence talk by a female Kuk Sool Wan instructor, and New Age Curling to name but a few.

In addition to sourcing and running activities at each meeting, Hannah is constantly trying to find volunteers to help run the club and applying for grants to ensure the club can continue to run.

NEWS FROM NEWLY RE-OPENED RE-IMAGINE RESOURCE CENTRE

Introducing Re-imagine CREATION STATION! - a comfortable space with access to everything you need to have a go at a project or repair. Sewing Machines, Hot Glue Gun, Artist Materials, White Board, Tools, Sketch Pads and so much more….plus access to the whole store as you work through your sustainable craft project goals.

Teachers need to meet to discuss a project? Folks planning an event? Having a party? Maybe putting on a festival or Community project? Dont want the mess at home while you upcycle your dinjng chairs? Parent and Child crafting time? Or just need some you time to chill while doing your own craft? Friends meeting up to create together? Does your teenager need a supportive environment to work on a school/college project? This is available to book from 10am - 2pm every Tuesday at just £10 an hour (reduced rates for charities & Community Groups available) including free Tea/Coffee/Biscuits plus a free basket of materials.

We must do everything we can to change our current art practices and reduce the environmental impact of all craft projects, especially the mass production of cheap art supplies which are bad for the environment. The window of opportunity to make a real difference for our planet is quickly closing because commitments to climate action and financing

remain dangerously inadequate, and unless global leaders scale up their ambition now, current and future generations of children will suffer. We must become compelled to change our ways. I’ve loved creating this space and look forward to watching it grow and all the wonderful ecotastic projects that will be made at the Re-imagine Creation Station.

Dvořák ~ Mass in D

Saturday 9th March, 7.30pm St Mary’s Church, Ely

The main work of the evening will be Dvořák’s highly attractive Mass in D. Dvořák was commissioned to compose this mass by the Czech architect and patron Josef Hlávka for the inauguration of the chapel that he had built for his summer residence in Lužany. It was first performed in 1887, conducted by the composer. Our performance will be accompanied by a wind quintet in a recently published new arrangement of the original organ accompaniment; even if you have heard this piece recently, this fascinating new accompaniment will reveal the work in a new light. Other pieces in the programme include Sir Charles Villiers Stanford’s much-loved group of three motets: Justorum animae, Coelos ascendit hodie and Beati quorum via, paired with Janet Wheeler’s imaginative Homage to Stanford, based on the final piece of the set. Do save the date - ticket details will be available in the new year

The Boy at the Back of the Class

Tue 12 - Sat 16 March 2024

"After learning that he has fled his own war-torn country, Ahmet’s classmates have ‘The Greatest Idea in the World’ – a magnificent plan to reunite Ahmet with his family. An unexpected and often hilarious adventure follows, all topped off with a terrific twist. Told from a child’s perspective, balancing heart and humour, The Boy at the Back of the Class highlights the power of friendship and kindness in a world that doesn’t always make sense and reminds us that everyone needs a place to call home."

Sleuth

Mon 18 - Sat 23 March 2024

"A young man (McDermott) arrives at the impressive home of a famous mystery writer (Boyce), only to be unwittingly drawn into a tangled web of intrigue and gamesmanship, where nothing is quite as it seems... This dark psychological ‘thriller about thrillers’ makes for an intriguing study of human conflict, jealousy, and manipulation. Proving to be far more than a ‘whodunnit’, it promises to baffle even the most proficient sleuth!"

Dom Joly: The Conspiracy Tour

Sun 24 March 2024

"Dom Joly has been off travelling the globe again. This time, he’s been looking into some of the strangest and weirdest conspiracy theories inexistence. Now, he’s now set to embark on a rather unique theatre tour, where Dom will be providing a hilarious, fascinating, and slightly anarchic guide to the wacky world of conspiracies."

Cluedo 2: The Next Chapter

Mon 25 - Sat 30 March 2024

"Starring Heartbeat and Casualty’s Jason Durr and Strictly champion, Ellie Leach*, Cluedo 2 is set in the swinging 1960s and introduces a new house, new suspects, and lots of new bodies, in this all new tale of murder, mystery and secret passageways."

The School for Scandal

Tue 9 - Sat 13 April 2024

"Deliciously naughty and outrageously silly, this timeless comedy is a masterclass in social satire and the art of gossip. Featuring an unforgettable cast of larger-than-life characters, each armed with a lacerating wit, The School for Scandal is one of the greatest comedies ever written."

Stewart Lee

Mon 15 - Tue 16 April 2024

"After a decade of groundbreaking high concept shows involving overarched interlinked narratives, massive sets and enormous comedy props, Lee enters the post-pandemic era in streamlined solo stand-up mode. One man, one microphone, and one microphone in the wings in case the one on stage breaks. Pure. Simple. Classic. Basic Lee."

The Lion Inside

Fri 19 - Sun 21 April 2024

"A heart-warming tale about confidence, self-esteem, and a shy little mouse who sets out on a journey to find his roar. Based on the best-selling story by Rachel Bright & Jim Field, this brand new stage adaptation is directed by Sarah Punshon (The Jungle Book), with music and lyrics by Eamonn O’Dwyer (Brief Encounter)."

Twelve Angry Men

Tue 23 - Sat 27 April 2024

"A jury has murder on their minds and a life in their hands as they decide the fate of a young delinquent accused of killing his father. But what appears to be an open and shut case soon becomes a huge dilemma, as prejudices and preconceived ideas about the accused, the trial, and each other turn the tables every which way, until the nail-biting climax…"
