Entre les deux grands musiciens, le combat pour la postérité peut paraître inégal. Pourtant l'on y perçoit bien combien le fils, tout imprégné qu'il soit de la musique de son père, a eu son génie propre et su faire évoluer l'art de la composition.

Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach is reunited with his father Johann Sebastian in this set issued to mark the tercentenary of the younger man’s birth. The struggle for recognition by posterity may look like an uneven contest between these two great composers. Yet, listening to them together, one soon realises that the son, though steeped in his father’s music, also had his own brand of genius which advanced the art of composition.
