Dear Friends, Thank you for registering for the 30th Holualoa Companies El Tour de Mesa presented by BOEING to be held on April 2, 2022!

We are so excited to welcome over 1,200 cyclists from 35 different states throughout our country to enjoy what has always been a staple on the spring bike calendar!

El Tour de Mesa is a fully-supported bicycle race for some and a ride for others. If you are in the lead pack or attempting to reach a personal goal, we wish you all a safe and enjoyable ride.

Red Mountain Park in Mesa will serve as the packet pick-up location, the ride start/finish and post ride celebration!

We hope you enjoy the scenic ride through the Red Mountain, Salt River and Usery areas. Come back with friends to ride again!

PACKET PICK-UP Packet Pick-up will take place at Red Mountain Park at the Dove Ramada. You can access the Park from Brown Road and turn south on Sun Valley Road. There is plenty of parking for Friday's Packet Pick-up near the Dove Ramada. Packet Pick-up is open at Noon until 8pm on Friday, April 1st and then again from 530am-630am on Saturday's ride day.

Please bring your confirmation email with you or show on your mobile device. The QR code is the quickest way to pick-up your packet. If you are also picking up for others, please have their QR Code/confirmation email. If you don’t have the QR code we can look you up by name with an ID. Bring your QR code, either printed out or on your smartphone.

Your QR code will be on the registration confirmation email.

The El Tour QR Code was sent a reminder email to all registered participants ride week.

Proxy Packet Pickup

Anyone picking up a packet for someone else must bring the following to the Expo Print-out or digital display (on a smartphone or tablet) of the QR code(s) for the individual(s) whose packet you are picking up.

PLATINUM MEETINGS

:

Platinum meetings will take place at Red Mountain Park at the Dove Ramada where packet pick up takes place on Friday at Noon or 6pm. They should last about 45 minutes.

This is where you get your platinum wristband that gets you into the bike corral. If you are attempting to qualify for platinum, the qualifying time is 2 hours for all riders.

START LOCATION & START TIME The start location for 72 km/45 mile ride is at Red Mountain Park in Mesa, located at 7745 E Brown Rd, Mesa, AZ 85207. You will start and finish in the same place as the "main event" so stick around for the post-ride celebration in the park! The ride starts at 7:00am.

EVENT DAY PARKING (SATURDAY) There are 2 major parking lots for the event.

EAST PARKING LOT - RED MOUNTAIN PARK

The east parking lot of Red Mountain Park can be accessed from Brown Road at North Red Mountain Park Road https://goo.gl/maps/jdDwsaKFXtaJNVa27 This lot will only be open until 6am on event day as the road will close for the event. You will not be able to leave until the event is completed.

NORTH PARKING LOT - RED MOUNTAIN HIGH SCHOOL

The north parking lot of Red Mountain High School can be accessed from Brown Road at North 72nd Street https://goo.gl/maps/Hhniz7smh85qs5sV9 Please park in the north lot as there is also a track meet that will happen at the stadium.

Do not park near the soccer fields off Sun Valley Road, south of the ride start. There is a soccer tournament that needs this parking area.

EL TOUR DE MESA BEER GARDEN Relax in beautiful Red Mountain Park after the ride. There will be live music from the Massman Band and a beer garden from Huss Brewing and Ten55 Brewing.

Beer Garden Hours: Saturday 10am-2pm.

BIKE PATROL ON EL TOUR DE MESA Bike Patrol is the helping hands, eyes and ears of El Tour! Bike Patrol helps cyclists on the route with minor mechanical aid, first aid and moral support. Bike Patrol cyclists bring enthusiasm for cycling and a deep pool of experience to ensure the success of thousands of riders every year. They ride all or part of an event’s route stopping to assist other cyclists and report their activities to headquarters during the event.

In the case of an emergency, the Bike Patrol can call for assistance. Bike Patrol is also responsible for guiding the riders along the routes.

Bike Patrol cyclists bring enthusiasm for cycling and a deep pool of experience to ensure the success of thousands of riders in Perimeter’s events every year.

Each Patroller must be certified to ride an event – a short class ensuring that you know what to expect and what is expected of you during an event. Certifications must be renewed every two (2) years. This has been extended to three (3) years since events were not held in 2020.

Bike Patrol will be easily recognized wearing bright yellow T-shirts or bright yellow jerseys imprinted with crosses like the images above.

ABOUT PERIMETER BICYCLING ASSOCIATION Perimeter Bicycling Association of America is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that produces bicycling events for community, charity and wellness.

El Tour de Mesa is one of Perimeter Bicycling’s new events. It joins with El Tour de Tucson and El Tour de Zona and some of the best bicycling events in America.

Held annually the Saturday before Thanksgiving, El Tour de Tucson attracts over 7,500 cyclists of all ages and abilities from around the United States and beyond bringing together cyclists and members of the greater Tucson community for a cycling celebration.

Perimeter Bicycling wants to emphasize all components are catalysts in driving it to help raise money for more than 50 nonprofits throughout the year. El Tour de Tucson enables nonprofit, charitable agencies to raise funds for their respective organizations.

In 2019, we reached a significant milestone in being the facilitator for helping charities raise over $100 million through Perimeter’s 38 years of charity work. In 2021, charities raised more than $4 million, moving the overall total to $105 million since El Tour started in 1983.

El Tour has come a long way, given in that 1983 with fewer than 200 cyclists, El Tour raised $4,500 in its first ride. Since then, more than 270,000 cyclists have ridden in Perimeter events. El Tour, of course, has grown considerably since its inception, but the message has long been constant: charity, community, health and wellness through a strong and committed group of nonprofits, thousands of dedicated cyclists and volunteers who know the power of teamwork.
